Are old boxed IBM/PC games worth anything? I have tons of them, everything from classic Sierra games (like Quest for Glory and Conquest of Camelot) to more 'modern' games like Warcraft and Fallout. Do people collect these? With the advent of the interweb I really don't need the 'originals' anymore and I was thinking about clearing out some space.

Generally $0, give or take. There are some exceptions, probably anything that came with a lot of maps and anything that originally included game pieces or trinkets or whatnot.

As with anything, people definitely collect them, but they've never demanded the kinds of $ that video games have.

some games hold a great value, mostly the sierra games, the ultima games and some of the d&d games as well. unlike with console games many of the obscure games don't hold much value (save to the 3 people who might have bought them) stuff like the sim-anit life tower city cow chicken bannana etc etc games don't hold much value either.

I personally collect older pc games (boxed) mostly to replace all the ones I had that disappeared when I moved.

I might end up selling mine when I get them sorted out. Right now they're taking up WAAAAY too much space.

I have sold several CIB and just jewel case PC games over the years. I was often astonished people still wanted them. The vast majority were real time strategy types like Age of Empires, Star Fleet Command, Birth of the Federation, etc. Often I sold these several years after they came out. There are other games which go. One example is the last Sierra/Papyrus NASCAR 2003 Season, which had a big online community and was not produced in large amounts, etc. Any game that has an online community will have takers. I sold most of my stuff for maybe $10 per, give or take. Not a ton, but better than throwing them in the garbage (which is what I was going to do).
