A few years ago I purchased three Hong Kong Version NES carts. I am having a hard time finding any similar carts online or any info on them. All I ever dig up is pirated Hong Kong carts.

The games (Super Mario Bros, Popeye, Donkey Kong) are in boxes the same size of the carts themselves and have dates of 1984 on them.

I wish I had some pictures but I have them in storage in another city.

Any info would help.

Thanks.

Richie.

"To prevent the widespread famicom counterfeits, which also counted console counterfeits, NCL decided to release an Asian Version of the Nintendo Entertainment System for use in Bangladesh, India, Indonesia, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka and Tailand, a copy of the European PAL model. The change from Famicom 60pin to NES 72pin cartridges sure made it a bit more difficult for counterfeis, but atapters for the Famicom boards were soon made and it was all packed nicely in a NES cart shell. Nintendo themselves also used this idea in the early NES days in America, you are therefore able to find these adapters in some Excitebike and Gyromite cartridges."

I got this from NES world. http://www.nesworld.com/nes.php

I have a few of those carts myself. I actually like the packaging and look of the carts more than their American counterparts. The light white/grey color is a nice touch.

You wouldn't have any interest in selling/trading them would you? If so, i'd be interested.

The Euro versions come with the same animated non 8-bit labels and small boxes. The carts are the darker grey american color though.

The Hong Kong and Asian version have the same color carts and packaging. Only difference I know of is that the label for Asian Nintendo releases are black. The Hong Kong Nintendo releases are blue. At least the Pro Wrestling ones I have. My Hong Kong Rad Racer has a Grey label. All of my Asian and Euro Nintendo releases have black labels.
