For the first time I'm watching a UK TV Series called Thumb Bandits. It's pretty good.

Here is Season 1, Episode 2, Part 2:

At 0:30 of this video, they show "Nintendo Entertainment Sytem: NES Version", at 1:58 is a box showing the same thing.

What is that? Why specify NES Version? Were there non NES versions? Was there a Famicom version?

Did all PAL NESs say this?

Wasn't there a Mattel version in some European countries?

It is a Nintendo Entertainment system. Of course it is the NES edition!

I have no idea what that system is.

That's a PAL-A NES. British version I guess.

Note how on NES PAL-B games mention: "This game pak may not be used with the Mattel or NES versions of the Nintendo Entertainment System"

Spanish NESes say "Spanish version", German NESes say "European version". While Dutch or French NESes don't say anything special at all.

I'm in Australia and I've got two NES's, both Mattel versions, I'm pretty sure all Aussie NES's are "Mattel".

My games say "This game pak cartridge can only be used with the Nintendo Entertainment System Mattel Version PAL System."
