If I buy this, I'd only be buying it for reselling purposes. What would this be worth? The seller wants $40.00 for the lot.

Hopefully the Nes's work. The SMB 3 cartridges are the most money worth games in the lot and go for $5-13 each. At $40 it's not a bad deal but not a great deal either. Try to talk him down to atleast $30 if not $25.

Refurbed systems with Mario 1, 2, and 3 go for over $60 each right now (up to $100!). It looks like you would be short a few components in that lot, but you could still make money on it. Personally the amount of work required versus the amount of profit would put me off, though.

I think I'm going to pass on it. I was thinking of making two lots that would each include an NES, SMB 1, 2 and 3 and sell each for $40 (including one controller) and the other for $50 (which would include the gun and 2 controllers), then sell off the remaining games loose (probably get $10-$20 total).
But I'd need to track down an RF adapter and AC adapter (not a big deal) and then deal with shit afterwards as people bitch and moan that the NES's barely work (a bigger deal, I would find this annoying). I'd clean the NES units, but that's it.
I'm sure someone could make money at this, especially if they wanted to replace the connectors, but that's not what I'm looking for.
