I am wondering how much you pay for a 16"x 20" canvas board painting of pixel art? I know an artist (graduated with a degree in art and teaches it) that is considering selling, and was wondering what people are willing to pay. I got her to paint the Fighter from Final Fantasy 1 and it came out wonderful I am getting it framed so i can hang it in my game room. It takes hours and hours of work, and she wouldn't do it for p-nuts. So the question stands. What would you pay to have a hand painted painting of your favorite pixel character to hang in your place?

For pixel art I'd just print it out, seriously.
I considering making something out of those glass bricks people built walls out of in the 80s and some coloured transparencies once... never got around to it.
Take a pic of your fighter painting!

I guess it depends on the subject and the quality. I wouldn't imagine there's much of a profit to be made from it though.
I've bought a lot of video gaming artwork (original pieces, like case art and such) and even that doesn't sell for as much as you'd think.

Thanks for the replies.
Skaar, I feel that you could print out any art, not just Pixel. A print out/poster of a Thomas Kincade isn't as cool as having a real one. Also a hand paitned picture, no matter the subject, looks better on the wall that somthing from a printer. I do understand your point though. :) I will try to get a pic and put it on the board. I never have done it, so i have to have time to figure it out. :)

I know that taste is subjective and all, but Thomas Kincade? Seriously? I'm trying to stop from retching just from hearing the name!
On the other hand, I think a nicely done pixel art painting would be pretty cool. I might actually commission one from my wife, as she has done sort of similar work in the past and I think she'd be good at it. My payment terms probably wouldn't help your friend out, much, though, so I won't go into details there. :pimp:
