Is it possible to take apart a Generation NEX and somehow put the wireless capability into an official NES? My Gen NEX took a dump on me and the wireless was the best thing about it, anyway. I'd like to put it in my top loader. Anyone tried this before? I know they made some type of adaptor if you bought the controllers for you original system, but like an idiot, I didn't get any (thought the console would last longer than a few months).

Yeah the controllers in the boxes on their own have a dongle that plugs into the front of the NES.

Would the easiest way be to wire the dongles to the leads that run to the controller inputs from the inside of the NES and then close it all up?

They're not IR receivers so they shouldn't have an issue being inside the machine and running properly.
