I was sitting here reading the boards, and Antiques Roadshow came on.
I had a camcorder near me and thought some might find this amusing.
Unfortunately, I missed the beginning.
Here's a partial clip (about a 1 meg MPG )

Here's the write-up on the website.

I'm kind of assuming that this is the same clip that has been on a few times now...everytime it comes on, Atari prices go through the roof...

It would be really funny if there was a Video Life sitting next to that Quadrunner while he was calling it the "Holy Grail of all Atari Games".

I hope so, I've got a ton of commons I need to unload. :)

Me too...I wonder how many unsuspecting slobs I can get to buy $5 Pac-Man carts...

"THEY'RE GETTING HARDER AND HARDER TO FIND!!!!"

Next time I'm over there, I have to get a picture of that guy...and his booth...

I like that 100 to 200 a system. I just picked up 5 systems with a bunch of games and controlers for 15 bucks. hahaha. Now at 100 bucks a sytem, and 10 bucks a games. thats alot of money :D

I always wondered what would happen in that situation. I can't watch what you've uploaded, but I get the gist of it from other comments. So what exactly did they have on the show? Complete 2600 system?

This blows...

I just emailed their site to let them know about the errors they've chosen to air with their "expert."

I recommended that they do some actual research before making every rube in the country feel as though he's got gold in the basement.

I recommended AtariAge and Digital Press for their educational purposes...

I know it's come up here before POG, this is the 4th or 5th time this episode has been on...briefly, IIRC the guy just has a loose (may have had the box)2600 and says it can be worth $100-200!!!!!

That Pac-Man, Asteroids etc. are common as dirt, and still cost $5-10.

Quadrun is the holy grail and commands $500-1000.

He made no mention that boxes and instructions matter at all in the value of games.

Ugh...

So what we need to do here is find out where the Antique Roadshow is going to be next and set up a booth outside selling all kinds of ultra rare Atari games like Pacman and Asteroids for only $10 each. All of the sheep who watch that show and believe that shit will be lining up for such a steal.
