hey guys.
i'm new to this forum, my name is Sammy.
there was a thread not too far back concerning the new game store in the boynton beach mall.
and while i know i'll get a total razzing for this, I'm the store manager there.

We've been open about a month now and we've been doing fairly well, and have definately improved in a lot of areas that you guys complained about.
i could give you a whole list of explanations on why our opening was so bumpy, but it wouldn't matter, cause in truth we did suck.

thats another reason why i'm here.
i'm not going to claim knowing everything about video games, i don't. i know a great deal, but i have blank spots that i resort to my friends for.
i love video games even if i suck at them [and yes. i suck]
and because i can only go to my friends so much, and i have only so many people in my store at a time that can actually discuss games with me, i have a request.

Tell me what to change.
i can only change so much to my own liking, but thats pointless if my customers don't like it.
We still have the try before you buy policy on our gaming station.
we have the 360, ps2, and wii hooked up.
as well as a dvd player that we switch different anime in and out of.

We've imported some consoles and accessories from overseas to try and have some exclusive things you can't get anywhere else.

Our stickers have improved.
we have yellow stickers that signify Used games, but there still are some few that are white stickers.

Thats about all i have right now.
I would greatly appreciate some feedback so i can make this store a place where you can pick up games you can't anywhere else.
Our selection still isn't huge, but we've definately picked up on inventory in the classics.

Any feedback is greatly appreciated.
i'm going to wander these boards and brush up on my gaming knowledge.
:-D

I can throw you some tips straight from my own personal observation of game stores in my area.

The big thing I noticed was stickers. If you sell carts, just a tip I noticed, putting stickers on labels is a big no no, because frankly, it sucks getting that sticker off of there.

Now if you could figure out a way to just scan the original bar code and somehow not have a sticker on the jewel case of dvd case, that would be stellar. I have not seen that, but that would be awesome.

as for the whole label stickering thing, we really have no option on not having them on the cases. one good thing though, is that unlike a lot of places our stickers actually peel off really easily. almost too easily with our yellow stickers. i have to restick those pretty regularily.

we are able to scan original bar codes without having to have a sticker on there, but we generally reserve that for consoles.

our prices have done a lot of changing recently. we're still updating everything from our original launch so some games are still a little pricey.
but overall its gotten immensly better.

I don't pop up to boynton much, mostly to visit this one friend and Sonic runs, but next time I'm there, I'll be sure to stop by and ask for Sammy.

sounds awesome guys.

our classic game inventory has just gotten a major boost.
we're still not in stock on our NES or SNES systems [those sold pretty fast]
but we do have some N64's, dreamcasts, and a sega gamegear.

also we have a membership card [much similar to the ones over at GS]
Its only 19.99 for 10% off of new accessories, pre-played games, accessories, preplayed consoles, and you get Reservation VIP's as well as email updates and coupons.
also. it comes with 10 little keychain cards, you can hand them out to your friends and they'll get 5% off all said items, and everytime they use it you get a dollar towards your account.
[It says you get a t-shirt, but we're out right now. i'm workin on getting more. :) ]

Not to mention giftcards. Giftcards are always a nice easy christmas present. lowest you can go is $5.

you can also put money down to hold anything in the store. it'll go onto a giftcard, and will vary in price depending on what your holding. its fairly reasonable, especially for those hard to find items.

Better Business 101: Don't sell common games that have been eaten by a dog.

(:

And... looking for any weekend employees? My full time job just cut back on hours. :P (Hey! It's worth a shot.)

Daria: already taken care of. :)
sorry no spots open. downside to being so new is lack of employees. its just the managers as of the moment.
