After getting ahold of some great Japanese Hucards (Outrun, Thunderblade, and Parodius to name a few) I was going to get an adapter for the TG16 to play them. But with the heavy pricetag ($99) for the adapter and various incompatibility issues, I said to myself: "Why don't I jsut get a PCengine"? I didn't go for the PCEngine original white unit, but the grey Core Grafx unit because it has A/V ability built in. My question is this. Will the TG16 joysticks work on the Core Grafx? THe system I bought is basically new in the box and of course comes with its original controller, but I was just wondering if my TG16 turbotap would actually work on the Japanese system for multi player ability. If anyone knows, let me know. Thanks!

As far as I know, yes, but don't quote me on it. Maybe geelw knows?

You don't want the CoreGrafx. You want the PC-Engine Duo R, because it's got a Super CD-ROM^2 built in. Even if you don't want to play Sapphire (never met one who really does,) you can play Dracula X...and lots of other things. Well, a few other things.

I doubt the controllers will still work because the original PC-Engine AND the Super CD-ROM^2 adapter are SMALLER than a GameCube, and the motherboard is so cramped that there's a daughter board coming off it. But then again, I haven't compared controllers on the two.

It's funny that Turbo Duo controllers won't work on the Core Grafx II, yet a Turbo Duo Turbotap works on a PC Engine or Core Grafx. I have a Turbo Duo Turbotap (white) and it works fine with my Core Grafx II. The unit seems to have trouble working with American controllers for some reason.

Ehh, I already bough the Core Grafx. It was $100, new in box, which I think isn't all that bad considering I got a whole system for the same price I would have spent on a tiny adapter to do the same job. I'm not really interested in the cd-rom aspect of the PCEngine, I basically just collect Hucards so it's pretty much perfect for me :)
