I've bought a few working machines this year, but now i have a problem. The monitor on my Mortal Kombat 2 machine is broken. I picked up a used monitor from a friend to switch them out. It was from a Mortal Kombat 1 machine, and a Gauntlet machine before that. The power :help:connectors on the back of the new monitor and the old one were different. I thought these were universal. Is there a simple solution w/o rewiring the whole thing? Thanks!

Oh dear...this means you'll have to gut the whole machine and start from scratch.
Just kidding. But it would help to know what the old monitor is and the new monitor is.
There are a few different connectors used on monitors. Depending on which one you already have, it's just a matter of swapping out the old end. Let's see what you've got.

Oh ok. I thought at first that the power supply had to be changed. I don't love MK2 that much lol. Theres a bunch of different numbers on the monitors, so i need to know where to look. So you said i'd have to switch one of the ends. Do you mean the end from the replacement monitor power plug, or the end from the games power supply that it connects to?

Can you post some pictures of the original (first) broken monitor, and then the one you are going to put in place of it? That will help a great deal in getting you some help.

Some of the newer monitors are using different power connectors.
Wells-Gardner makes an adapter dongle like the one pictured.
