View Full Version : Obscure ps1 rpg, need the name

I am looking for an rpg I saw once, that sticks out vividly in my mind. I joined these forums with the hopes that someone can answer this inane question.

The game is a sprite rpg set against watercolor backdrops (NOT SECRET OF MANA, or CELL graphics). In it you play the only dude in the world without magic. Everyone BUT YOU uses magic enhanced wooden swords. YOU on the other hand have the fantastical idea of using metal.

Someone please help, I saw this game once 8 years ago. I need to remember at leat the name before I go crazy. Keywords here:

saga frontiers not too obscure :o but yah good rpgs ;p ps1 has a ton of em!

That was actually just half the scenario of SaGa Frontier 2.

The other half is more lighthearted.

I wouldn't really call it lighthearted. Following Johan the Assassin is anything but lighthearted or when the storyline is about Ginny and the fake Gustav.

If you ask me though, SaGa Frontier 2 is the best of them. I like the storyline much better, though SaGa 2 would be after, the original SaGa Frontier, Romancing SaGa games, then the rest follow after with Unlimited Saga last(only because of the pathetic battle system and trap system as I like everything else about the game.)
