I was wondering if anyone could help me out,

about a week ago, i received 'Spore' as a gift. My younger brother opened it up and checked out the packaging, game etc. without installing it. I picked the game up from my house, brought it back to my apartment and tried to install it tonight. When asked for my registration cd key, I couldnt find it ANYWHERE in the packaging. I called up my brother and he swears he put back all that came with the game into the cd case. Where is the cd key on the Spore packaging, does anyone know? If it has been lost, what can I do? Is there a key generator or anything that I can use? I know nothing about pc gaming, so if this is an obvious answer, i apologize. Just looking for a little guidance on this one.
Does anyone have a registration key that they aren't going to use? Or know how to find one? I'm unsure of what to do. Google searches say to contact Maxis through their site, but I do not have a receipt or anything (family member has already gotten rid of the receipt) Not sure if that would be a problem on that end.

Any advice would be great, thanks

The key is on the back (top) of the manual, and no you can't have mine ;) GL

No manual in my case -_-
I'm going to have to go back home and turn the place upside down, this is killing me. Anyone know of alternative ways if I can't find mine?

Do you know any sites? any cd keys I come across via google are already invalid or used up. Checked today, no manual around. It might have been thrown out around thanksgiving (three birthdays in the family, lots of wrapping paper lying around)....damn.

This is exactly why I hid the manual once I loaded it up for my son. Otherwise the thing would be torn to shreds somewhere under his bed.

The manual, as has been said, is where it's at. And if you are dealing with a legitimate copy of the game (as you said you are), perhaps you can call EA support and get one out of them? There's probably a file somewhere on the disc against which the serial number on the manual is compared. If you in fact have a copy that's never been registered then maybe they can walk you through product activation by giving you something like a single-use code.

It's as good a start as any. And again, if you've got a legit copy of the game, then you've got nothing to lose by contacting EA for help.

QFE!

Totally dude. If it is legit to start, no point is stepping into that realm just yet.
