What game story arc's would benefit from a prequel?

I was thinking what if they made a prequel of the Metroid series. What would it be like? Like before Samus got her gun arm. Was she a bad A$$ fighter? How would the game play? Maybe there is a back story for this example, but you see where I am going with this.

What other game story arc's wold benefit from a game to explain the "fist" one?
