I have a near-mint copy of Rakugaki Showtime (with case and instructions, no spine card). I know this is one of the rarest PS1 games out there.
There's currently a mint copy for sale on EBay, with the guy asking $400.
About how much would my copy be worth, and how much would it be worth with the spine card? I'm curious how much value those little scraps of cardboard carry.

I'd say it's more "in demand" than rare, myself.
When you see it in the collector's shops in Tokyo it's usually in the $150-200 range, maybe $160-175 on average. I think you could probably pry one off Yahoo Auctions for that price range. (plus fees, shipping, etc etc etc) In the US, i'd say $250 on the highside. In fact, if someone would give me $250 i'd go buy one for 'em :)
Missing spine depends on the game -- for cheaper games it's not so important, but it can be 20-30% cheaper for a game with no spine if the game is desireable. Something like Taromaru for the Saturn goes for the low-$200s with no spine and upwards of $300 with.

Hahaha, shit. I just tossed my spine card away years ago, not even thinking it had any value or that I'd ever want to sell the game.
Oh well. Even going by your lowest estimate, that's double what I paid for it in the first place.
