So I will be picking up today from Craigslist my first table. 48 coin-op machines, and it took this long to finally find a cocktail table. Anyways, it's a dedicated Pac-Man, not working (yet). Guy states that the sound works, but there's no pic. So, for $125, and a little time to put a monitor board back together, I should be able to play pac-man. I'll have to get some pics up here when I get it home (tonight or tomorrow, I think). So I guess that's my Christmas gift to me? (That's what I'll tell the wife, anyways)

Very cool. Congrats. I finally broke down myself and added a 60-in 1 to the collection. I was always a purist until the wife started complaining about lack of space lol. I must admit, I like it. The kids like to play it more than some of the dedicated machines I had so that alone is worth it. Post some pics when it's done. Have fun with it.

Congrats! Now is a great time to pick up an arcade on Craigslist. It seems that a lot of people are moving and getting rid of them, cheap. I picked up a table top playchoice10 for $150. Thing is in amazing condition.
As far as yours, check into the 48 in 1 boards. They are cheap(about $125) and loaded with classics. Gotta post a few pics.

So I just got home with the machine, it's actually in nicer shape than it looked like in the pics. Well worth the money. Monitor has minimal (if any) screen burn, the cabinet is ok (piece of wood broken off the very bottom and no caster there, so it tilts), and the interior of the cabinet is super-clean. I talked to the guy for a brief minute, found out that the machine has been home owned for 20 plus years. So, all in all, probably one of the better Pacs out there, even the monitor glass has light to moderate scratches on it. I'll get some pics maybe tomorrow (I am going to drag it out of the van then.)

I noticed the Craigslist deals today actually. Lots of local arcade postings in the past week and totally worth keeping an eye out. Someone was selling a fully working 4-player NBA JAM for $100 not too long ago so you just never know. (wish I had a place to put that thing!) Maybe you could bump another arcade into the collection before '09?

Well, possibly, but that'd put me at 50 machines...First off, where do you put them all, secondly, what's the next real landmark? 100? I'd never have the space. I think maybe I'll get rid of a few first, then maybe pick up a couple more.

I had a few minutes (ok, hours) tonight, played around with it a bit, and got it working. 2 problems I found, one was the fact that the original fuses blew (why, I don't know), and someone decided the smart thing to do was just to wrap them in tinfoil and jam them back in the fuse holders. The other problem was the monitor board was bad, so with a quick theft from Side Arms (which has a bad PCB anyways), Side Arms is still broken, only more so, and Pac Man is working. Pics soon, as I am not quite finished with it yet. Still need to replace a couple light bulbs, wipe down the cab, etc., but I WILL post pics soon, maybe Sunday.

Wow...if I found that deal I would immediately buy a bigger condo so I could fit that in :)

You know, now that you ask, I couldn't tell you offhand, two on the main line side, and I think two on the low DC side as well. Long and short of it is it's working now, been playing it a little bit the last couple days. Soon as I finish cleaning it up a little more, I'll post some pics of it.
