I ordered the figurine. It won't be out till end of the year. I have to start adding more coins since I already spend 800 on G&W 2. :(

So, I'll likely be getting the 3DS when it comes out.

I wonder, is it possible to purchase it from Walmart (or wherever), get the club nintendo code and register it, return it saying its broken and get another.

Double the codes?

I mean, I actually wouldn't do it because it seems pretty greasy, but is the system somehow set up to detect that?

You can only pretty much use one code per account. :(

You can however use the second code on a different account.

I thought the one code limit was for just for games. I have a friend who said he was able to get points on two DSis after his first one legitimately broke within the exchange timeframe at Target.

Yeah, I got 320 coins for two DSiXLs just the other day. Input the codes back-to-back. Was kinda torqued that it was 160 each instead of 190, but oh well.

I posted this in the November Finds thread yesterday...

What do I find on my doorstep when I get home? A cardboard box containing...

They've got some new bonus end-of-year surveys, including one about Club Nintendo itself available. It's 30 easy coins, plus you can bitch about how much you hate Club Nintendo!

They have also updated their prize catalog in the past month, but pretty much everything is out of stock for now. That Blooper fan looks classy.

I had 600 coins and got Pin A. I really like the pins, but they are FAR too expensive. Now I've got 150, but don't buy enough Nintendo games to get another pin really.

Anyone else getting any of the new rewards?

Those paper fans are pretty neat looking. I wouldn't mind going all weeaboo and having one to go along with my hanafuda cards. Granted, I actually owned and played with hanafuda cards prior to the Club Nintendo ones, so I don't know if that makes me more or less weeaboo. :P

I did not receive my Platinum prize for some odd reason. Possibly confusion because my account is part of a "FAMLILY" account. Still, I called and the rep checked and after some time, sent another one via UPS. Got it a few days ago, and though it smelled like cheap plastic, it was awesome to have. Definitely a great prize!

Once you log in, there should be a "To-Do" list on the home page. But only after you log in.

On a side note, the fans are back in stock as well, just ordered me the two Mario themed ones after missing out the first time.

There are also some Kirby patches and some colorful Wiimote straps, if you're into that sort of thing.

I don't think I have the points, but I need to full out the surveys to see if I make it. I do know I have a few games I've yet to register, so maybe that is enough! If not, I need to check my other account to see if I am able to get some points as well.

It's about time they, Nintendo, brings this!

Although not really related, why didn't certain DSi Ware games downloaded gave me no points whatsoever, only "Post Survey" points (10 points)?

I understand if non-Nintendo games don't give you points right away (like Soul of Darkness which only gave me the "Post Survey" points), but not official Nintendo downloades. I purchased the Animal Crossing Calculator and got nothing sans the "Post Survey". Could it be because it was only 200 points and not higher?

DSiWare
DSiWare is eligible for Post Play Surveys only. These surveys will appear in your To-Do List 7 days after the download. Your Nintendo DSi Shop must be linked to your Club Nintendo account to ensure DSiWare appears in your To-Do list (wireless broadband connection required). Click here for more information on creating the link.

I've got a question I can't seem to find an answer to... I got a new Wii recently, can I earn additional coins for this Wii even though I already registered one?

This seems to be the relevant section of Club Nintendo's FAQ, but it also seems to be specific to games:
"Why can't I register more than one of any product in my Club Nintendo account?
You can register as many of any one product (systems or games) as there are members in your Family Account. Please note that only the first game registered will be eligible for the survey and Coins. "

Seems like I've done so before, but maybe they changed it? Anyone know?

I registered multiple DSiXLs on one account. Not sure about Wii though, I only have one registered myself. You could try. Worse that could happen is they tell you you can't register more than one. Right?

Need more points...

Just to be clear, your registered, and got coins for multiple consoles, right? I know you can register multiple consoles for the warranty extension and so they have the s/n on file.

Yeah, I need more coins, too. Regretting my messenger bag now, but I didn't think they'd ever have anything decent again.

This stuff always annoys me. I have registered probably 30-40 games, but never all at once. Nintendo reset everyone's coins (or at least mine) a year ago when they switched sites, and I lost everything that I had before and don't remember getting told that I'd be losing them. I saw this, thought that I'd love that Game & Watch so I pulled out all the Nintendo games that I hadn't registered, almost all bought new, and at least half of them were "no longer eligible for coins."

What the heck Nintendo? I get it, you want me to purchase a ton of new games to get your awards, but with about 30 games registered, I now have about 450 coins, or about 15 coins per game. And that includes me doing ALL the surveys and registering my Wii.

I'd love to get something, but I guess I should focus on the screensavers or something, as I'm certain I'll never actually get enough coins to buy anything worthwhile, and I'm really sick of wasting my time doing it.

Sorry for the mini-rant, saw this, got excited and then got annoyed by the fact I put in 12 games and earned 110 points for it since only three "counted".

Yes, I got coins for each. 150 + 150 = 300 IIRC. Registered them same day, back-to-back.

I only need about 200, but yeah. 3DS looks like it's going to also come with my first Game & Watch. :)

That's odd.

I kept all my coins and I've had my account since 2008. Never had coins disappear unless they are not in use.

I do know you have a certain amount of time to use the points...maybe two years for the points you get per game.

On my alternate account, I have to use the points, because if I don't use them soon, I will loose them. So I may just ask for two Game & Watch Ball games, one on each account.

When I signed into the 'new' account once they switched me, it took everything I had registered and gave me nothing for it. For inputting codes, I tend to not input the codes except when I'm trying to get something, and it's annoying that games that I bought new three or four years ago don't work.

I can't afford buying 10 Wiis to get a little prize, and having registered 30+ games and having almost nothing to show for it just makes me really disappointed in the whole ordeal.

I also never lost anything in the change-over of sites.

I got an email last year telling me that all the coins I had earned were going to expire and that I needed to pick some rewards, platinum and the like.

So I did ... but outside of the 3DS, I think my Wii and DS buying habits have slowed enough that I'll be hard pressed to earn 1200. Hopefully the 3DS will be worth a decent chunk of virtual coinage.

Being a big Game & Watch collector, I'd like to get my hands on that unit without paying the silly eBay 2nd hand premium pricing.

The only time Nintendo "switched sites" was the conversion of Nintendo.com accounts into Club Nintendo accounts. That was in late 2008 and that's when "coins" started. Even though you could register games and systems on Nintendo.com for years prior, no one earned coins on these things.

As for your coins being reset since Club Nintendo...I have no idea. You might be confusing "Elite Status" with your regular coin balance.

Elite Status coins are tallied July 1st to June 30 every year. If you don't use them your Elite Status tally goes back to zero. Your total "Family Coin Balance" stays exactly the same. You purchase rewards with your Family Coin Balance. So in essence...it's impossible to "loose" coins. You just loose Elite Status.

Aha. Okay, that all makes more sense -- maybe I just confused that I didn't get anything for the first bunch I registered -- but then of the 30+ games that I have, only like six counted for points. Which is annoying to me, as Nintendo is happy for me to enter them, but they are worthless. I don't know how to know what games are worth what. When I saw this, I thought, "Well, awesome! I've got about 15 DS games I didn't register yet!" so I went through the surveys, got all of them, and found out that of them all, a whopping four counted for points. So, I went from like 400 points thinking I could get to about 1000 from these to 460 points.

Am I missing something on the site that says "Hey, this is how to figure out what games work!" It's annoying thinking I'm going to have 600+ points and get almost nothing.

Well, the article is from July, so any games released by then is not included in the list. Still, a valuable asset. :)

Damn...just got the 1200 on my main account and I am apprehensive on using it. And on my alternate account, I am missing 100 more coins/points to reach 1200. If only I can find the missing 100! Now even with the Post-Surveys will I reach... :(

I've created a thread just to keep track of what games have Club Nintendo points

http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?p=1791030

Let's work at getting it updated (and keeping it updated!).

Does anyone know the following:
1. How many points can I expect for a 3DS? IIRC, the DSi was 160 points.
2. How many points for 3DS games? I expect it's 30, since that's what DS games are.

I thought Nintendo maintained a list of eligible games, but now that I look I see it is missing a bunch of stuff. It seems really odd that they don't keep such a list.

I thought it was all, and only, 1st party games. Is that not the case?

c0ldb33r

Something weird is happening when I try to register a club nintendo game.

I registered Dragon Quest 9 earlier today. The code entered fine and it popped up with a survey. I filled out the survey and clicked finish. The screen showed up thanking me for filling out the survey, and then nothing. It didn't update my coins, it didn't even take me to a different page.

So, now on my action required page, I've got "Product Registration Survey" showing for DQ9. I've tried to fill it out a few times and it does the same thing. I'm hoping that when I finally manage to complete it properly, it will give me the coins.

Has anyone had this happen to them?

edit 1: it now works - I had to load internet explorer to do it *meh* It did have an extra, weird question at the top which was "Is Dragon Quest IX: <insert subtitle>" the game that you purchased and are registering?

I've never seen that before.

edit 2:

Check this out! This is probably the geekiest thing I've ever done, but I love it! :)

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/th_Club-Nintendo-cap.jpg (http://s152.photobucket.com/albums/s182/c0ldb33r/?action=view&current=Club-Nintendo-cap.jpg)

This is an excel spreadsheet I made. I copied the game name, date and activity columns from club nintendo's site.

The spreadsheet automatically calculates the total coins, the status coins (how many coins are you towards reaching gold/platinum - this ignores any negative numbers from the activity column for purchases) and automatically populates the member status column (complete with neat formatting). I do need to manually reset it after July 1st, which sucks - I'd love to make it automatically reset based on the date.

Why did I bother doing this? 2 reasons:

1. I'm trying to increase my excel skills, and
2. It allows me to plan, for instance, after inputting a few games which I've preordered, I know that I should wait until next year to register my 3ds when I get it. :)

Two Mii Stick Masks

A Club Nintendo Surprise Gift/Thank You card

Seems the criteria for receipt is not having Wii Party registered and having accumulated 2000+ points at Club Nintendo so far. It's not definite, but that seems to be true for anyone that has received it so far. If that includes you, watch for the brown truck. At the least it's a free controller and pizza. LOL

Seems the criteria for receipt is not having Wii Party registered and having accumulated 2000+ points at Club Nintendo so far. It's not definite, but that seems to be true for anyone that has received it so far. If that includes you, watch for the brown truck. At the least it's a free controller and pizza. LOL

Accumulated 2000+ points over the course of your Club Nintendo lifespan (even ones that have been cashed in) - OR have 2000 un-claimed points sitting in your account?

Lifetime total accumulation. I didn't order it, it didn't cost coins... It just showed up yesterday out of the blue.

Looks like I came in just over the 2K mark, so I'll be on the lookout.

I'm at 1750 but I haven't registered my 3DS yet or some DS games....

I don't see how we're not over 2k at this point. Free stuff better be free in our mailbox soon.

I received mine yesterday. I have been a platinum member the past three years. I have earned over 2000 points, 2400 to be exact since the beginning of this program. I have been a member since 2003. Don't know if this helps but thought I'd share.

Where does it show the total points you've accumulated over the years.

This has to be a joke.

From the two DS games I have purchased AND the 1500 points I have in my account currently, nothing arrived. So thus I passed 3000 points overall and nada.

Good April Fool's joke, though.

your wrong

Nope, the internet is wrong! :p

You have to add them up yourself.
