The whole idea still baffles me and I want someone to explain the reasoning behind it. Why would people spend real money for stuff in online games? I haven't played many because I'm not much for paying a monthly fee. However, if there's the chance of possibly making that monthly fee back by selling stuff from the game I may go for it (I've got a free summer so time put into the game isn't going to be a factor).

Are there sites where people sell their items? Any links and/or opinions from more experienced online players would be greatly appreciated. :)

Oh, I almost forgot. Are there any online games that people do this selling stuff with that don't charge a monthly fee to play? Thanks!

The reason people pay for ingame items is to save them selves the time it takes to create a high lvl character or obtain a rare item. I have played my fair share of online games, but i never got into selling things for real $.

To me it seems lik its hard to "earn" money by playing online games and selling accounts/items, unless you are unemployed and can spare 18h a day inforn of your computer, and i dont think it will earn you much. The items ppl are interested in buying are usually very rare, and takes huge ammounts of time to obtain.

The only online game that i know of that dont require a monthly fee is Project Entropia, the difference there is that money in game=real money.
So either you have to take jobs for experienced players, or you have to deposit some cash from your credit card to get started, then you can withdraw money from the game whenever you want. I have heard of ppl depositing 50$ and withdrawing several 1000$, but i think you must get lucky, because most ppl lose some money over time or cut even.

So my advice to you . Dont play an online game in the hopes of earning cash (you will most likley gt dissapointed), play because its fun.

People who buy online game items for real money are fools. I don't get it. You pay around $50 for the game. $9-12 a month to be able to play the game. Then you are going to buy items that way you don't have to play the game!!!!!(Earn the items) :smash:

I wish Kristine was around, she could explain to you better.
I do know that she regularly sells items from Ultima Online on eBay.
She puts up an auction for an item she has from the game.
She and the winning bidder agree to meet online in the game at a certain date/time/location, where she will give him/her the item, after they've paid.
She's made more than a few dollars from it so far!
