Just think Super Smach Brothers with Final Fantasy characters and you'll get the idea. Well, not really. Check this out: http://www.gamepro.com/article/news/208411/final-fantasy-fighter-for-psp-finds-mid-09-us-release/
Well Castlevania did it so why not Final Fantasy. Could it possibly be worst than the Castlevania fighting game? Maybe they should channel Ehrgeiz.....or maybe not.

They really should leave well enough alone.

I'm not entirely convinced this will be terrible, but then I'm one of those deluded few who continues to insist that Ehrgeiz was a good game. Besides, it's not like there's much else notable coming out for PSP anymore. Besides this and Prinny, what else do we PSP owners have to look forward to?

Fixed. I'm sick of Power Stone not getting credit where credit is due.

Unlike Castlevania: Judgement, Dissidia isn't some half-assed idea to weakly captializing on the franchise. Watching the videos on Gametrailers, it shows SquareEnix isn't going with it half-heartedly, trying to make it more than "another" fighting game. Before we start calling a masterpiece or trash, let's wait when it comes to our shores until then I'm keeping on eye on this and 3rd Birthday (Parasite Eve is back! Now how about Vagrant Story ;) )

The only cool aspect about this game - for me - is that the Amano characters actually look like his artwork. I think it's the first time Square's tried to recreate his designs in a 3D character model.

It's not a fighting game, but it's the first thing that came to mind:

What a great idea. It reminds me of something that I do from time to time that I have attached to my signature a few weeks ago. It's like a diary, or a journal but I only write it online. Now if only I could remember what I call it. Hmm.....

I actually like Power Stone (although I haven't played the second one yet). But to me Smash Brothers was a better fit because of how a bunch of characters from different games are coming together in one game to beat each other up. Just like SSB;)
I hope there's a lot of unlockable characters, because who wouldn't want to see a fight between Celes and Tifa.

The sheer volume of fluids generated by my fanboy orgasm will flood many villages, upon release of this game.

Dissidia has been in the making for quite awhile. At first I hated the idea and then I saw pictures from Famitsu of just the fanservice, so I changed my tune for that reason alone, not even bothering that I'd enjoy the gameplay. However I did get really hyped up for the gameplay.
Anyways. The game is actually really fun. Regardless if you're like me who think the series has turned to crap since 10 or you're still a fan, you'll love the game.
Unfortunately for those who want alot of characters. There's only one character from each game of FF1-10 and one boss character. In FF11 there's only one and FF12 there's only one(Shantotto and a Judge.)
I have complted the story mode for Warrior of Light and Cecil Harvey for now, and have played as quite a few of the characters in versus just to test them out. Overall the game is actually fairly balanced. I don't have all the attacks for all the characters that I've played, but even so, with the starting moves, Golbez just sucks, so I really hope he gets more good attacks to fix his flaws of what I'd like to call complete suckage(his air HP attack is very good and easy to hit someone, but too bad you won't be able to break an enemies brave and have enough brave to deal some decent damage.)
I'm not sure if any of you have played any Gundam Battle games or possibly Gundam vs Zeta Gundam, but if you have, then you'll know the amount of fan service put into those. Dissidia has quite a bit put in the game, 49 music and remixed music tracks, biographies on all characters, 390 icons of classic sprites and character pictures from FF1-10, plus the fact that it's a good fighting game trying to reactreate the main characters.
I'd recommend it to anyone here. If you import more than do that, if you'd actually like to read the storyline, I'd suggest getting it due to certain means if you want to play it now and wait for the US version or just wait for the US version.

Ehrgeiz WAS a fun game, but then they just loaded it down with more horribly balanced Final Fantasy characters to sell copies of it on the PS1. I mean, Tifa was a bit overpowered to begin with, but at least she was locked away in the arcade. Cloud was easy to unlock and everyone picked him once he was available, but he pretty much sucked. Ok, and the general character design anyway kind of sucked, but that's one of the charming things about Inoba anyway. :)
The quest mode in the PS1 version is about the only reason to play it, but even then they screwed that up (paying increasing amounts of money to save? what?). The only way to really enjoy it is via emulation with save states.

Whilst I loved Power Stone (and to a lesser extent Smash Bros), I never liked Ehrgeiz- and the presence of Cloud on the front cover just made it even more 'huh' in my eyes- but I'm kinda looking forward to Dissidia. I'm just hoping they aren't going to stick to just the announced characters and have extra ones for versus mode (though that said, everyone will just want to play as Auron anyway...).

Ehrgeiz is a great game I thought. When it was in the arcade Cloud was the first character I chose. For the PSX though, they added Vincent, Yuffie, Zack, and Sephiroth.
I'll end up picking Vincent over God Hand, not because he's an FF character but because in my opinion Vincent is a bit better. Other than that, God Hand and Lee Shuwen are my favorite characters.
There's also Sephiroth that sucks the first time you use him. he's a character you will really have to get used to in order to be good with him. When getting good with him he's actually better than Cloud who is much easier to use for beginners.
I used to be so good at Ehrgeiz, but really not so great at it anymore.

I'll wait until the game releases next summer. I remember playing Ehrgeiz back in the day, I only played as that one girl with the yo-yo lol.

Too bad its not going the route of Spectral Vs Generation. although it felt dated it was a really good import fighter
