The PlayStation Blog (http://blog.us.playstation.com/2008/12/19/lbp-premium-level-packs-costume-packs-metal-gear-solid-edition-on-the-ps-store-1223/) has dropped all the details about the upcoming Metal Gear character and level pack for LittleBigPlanet releasing Dec. 23. The character pack (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/17/exclamation-point-littlebigmetalgear-costume-and-level-pack-det/) will cost $6 for four outfits that'll allow you to dress your SackBoy as Snake, Meryl, Screaming Mantis and Raiden. The costumes can also be purchased for $2 individually, except for Raiden.

The $6 MGS level pack (http://www.joystiq.com/2008/12/18/littlebigplanets-mgs-pack-includes-new-trophies-paintball-gun/) is the real seller here. It features a Gurlukovich soldier costume, 72 stickers, 12 materials, 10 decorations, 18 objects and more. Most importantly is it includes the Paintinator, a paint ball gun which adds some much-needed violence to LBP's happy world of lollipops and imagination. Check out the adorable promotional video for the two DLC packs after the break.

Sweet. Finally a reason (sort of) to play a RPG game. I am a BIG fan of the MGS series, so something like this is BIG for me. :)

Niiiiice. :) Couldn't care less about the costumes (my sackboy wears a pair of boxer shorts and a smile and that's enough for me, thank you very much) but the level bits are going to be particularly cool, I can tell.

Ummm... What? When did Little Big planet become an RPG? Purchasable outfits do not an RPG make.

apparently they already have trophies for this.

Of course they do. The game has been out for almost 2 months.

opps my mistake I thought it was an RPG.

Also I meant they have trophies for the MGS character pack.
Such as Defeat Metal Gear Ray in less than 2 minutes and 30 seconds.

Also MGO has been online for along time and I don't see that getting trophies any time soon.

This will get me back to playing LBP. I couldn't help to smile and laugh at the trailer for this.

Nah. LBP is a platformer with a built in level editor.

Just played through the Metal Gear level pack. It was a lot more than I expected. A handful of levels, a new weapon, and tons of new crap for level editing. The levels were a lot of fun, and the new weapon made them feel really different.

I tried this out with two other friends and was a blast to play. I enjoyed the humor of the levels as well.

Goddammit, Little Big Planet is incredible, but it seems like Sony has some evil psychic consultants working for them, bent on figuring out new ways to get money out of me every week. Street Fighter costumes were bad enough, but they attacked the one spot that's even less fair: MGS.

I had the whole household screaming with glee and running around as Old Snake, Meryl, and Raiden(and Zangeif, which is also awesome). Too much fun, and totally worth the money.
