I've never touched the stuff, but if I did I'd be playing Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island -- I sometimes think the backgrounds were drawn while someone was stoned. Looks like crayons were used sometimes, and some of the mountains have mouths and eyes.

Toe Jam and Earl is a good one to play while bakey shmakey. Might also suggest Zelda: Twilight Princess for Wii. Honetly, have no idea how I beat that game. I was pretty stoned the entire time.

Flipnic on the PS2 is an absolute must. Space Giraffe too. I'd also recommend Devil Dice on the PS1, and possibly Tomba as well. Also look into picking up some homebrew Yaroze games for the PS1, because they were freaky enough before adding outside stimuli (in fact iirc Devil Dice began its life as a Yaroze game).

Yes friends, I am their dealer in video game sales because they are either high or drunk a lot of the time and rather have me go get the deals for them. I have $200 debt and they are willing to pay it off for me if I find them a bunch of games and a pool table.

All of the various music games are fun when high. Guitar Hero & Rock Band are great of course, but I wholeheartedly recommend the GC bongo games and Taiko Drum Master (seriously awesome). Any of the Katamari games are pretty wild (especially the first), as is just about anything by Yak. Tetrisphere and Robotron 64 on the N64 are money. Okami is unreal. Tempo and Kolibri on the 32X are sleepers. Any Darius game, especially G-Darius and Gaiden, is a good choice. Dr. Mario 2 player. Credit-feeding just about any modern vertical shooter (especially with 2 players) is also a blast (Mushihimesama is ace because of the progressive trance/house soundtrack). Any of the Panzer Dragoon games fit the bill. You generally can never go wrong with classic Sonic & Mario.

Most of the good stuff has already been mentioned (Kevincal got most of 'em!), but I also need to give Toejam & Earl a recommendation. And Rez as well. Mizuguchi's techno-influenced games are all pretty trippy.

I would have to find the article online, but it is said that the only good way to play ikaruga is if you are in a "trance like" state.

Basically, if you get stoned, it is easier to block out the bullets of your color ship and dodge the opposite color.

My buddy "the stoner" loves Oblivion and now Fallout 3, though he liked Oblivion better, god he played that game forever.

Other than that he likes Ghost Recon and yeah that's about it, he's kinda a loner my buddy the stoner.

When I would play games like Oblivion high on whatever I happened to be on, I'd never accomplish much. I would just do things like punch deer to death, go to the beach and shoot mudcrabs, get in big brawls with guards... nothing constructive, cause the wrong thing was so much more fun.

I know I quoted "Touch Fuzzy, Get Dizzy" as the be-all end-all of stoner video game fun, but to throw in a few more of my personal favorites:

Minestorm (Vectrex) - used to play this every single morning following a wake and bake.
Bad Dudes (NES) - what's a better cheer than "I'm bad!" after clearing a level?
Super Mario RPG (SNES) - some of the greatest music on the Super Nintendo IMO.
GoldenEye 007 (N64) - multiplayer. Already been mentioned for a reason.
Super Smash Bros. (Various) - You won't even be paying attention to what character is yours; you just mash mash mash.
Loaded (PS) - YMMV, lots of good memories on this one for me.
Tomba! (PS) - Play it and you'll know.
Sonic Adventure (DC) - Told a story about this in another thread, but it was the first game I ever played stoned (which is a statement that will make just about anyone feel old) and my jaw was dropped to floor, eyes bugging out of my head, and brain throbbing with excitement.

That's all for the list, but let's face it: if you're a stoner, video games are good, period.

Surprised no one's mentioned Killer 7 yet. I would like to get some of Suda51's stash.

I'd also throw in GTA San Andreas - not for the missions, but for just wandering around. Try going to the top of Mount Chilidad when the sun is rising or setting and doing a base jump. Just flying around is really fun also, particularly with the Barnstormer plane.
