View Full Version : Does Konami's Rock Revolution make you ill? (in a literal sense)

So i picked up Rock Revolution the other day, because it dropped to $20 new at gamestop. i was thinking hey... i get to try konami's take on the genre since they failed to americanize their guitar freaks and let harmonix rule the rhythm game genre.

well i tried it. and it literally makes me sick. like headache, naseua, ill. i have never experienced motion sickness ever, not on roller coasters, not playing FPS's... just has never happened to me. i think this game gives me motion sickness. the 2d *transparent* fretboard is too much for me. it's hard to concentrate, the jewels are very small on the screen and it's difficult to anticipate what your next note is. meanwhile, shit is happening right behind all these notes! BLARGH.

anyone else have this issue?

I'm VERY sensitive to motion sickness (I can't play Doom or Goldeneye for more than 5 minutes without feeling like I'm going to throw up). Don't have any problems with Rock Revolution though.

It's really strange you'd get motion sickness from what is essentially a 2D game. Do you play a lot of Guitar Hero or Rock Band?

Asking that is kind of like asking Paris Hilton if she has banged a lot of guys. ;)

yes, i play Rock Band literally every day... and i loved Guitar Hero too. Hell, in the last couple weeks, i played the crap out of Doom on xbla too :)

like i said, i've never experienced motion sickness of any sort that i can remember, until rock revolution. it just doesn't agree with me at all.

honestly, playing it though, most of the gameplay doesn't agree with me either. the poison note challenges, and the studio challenges... thumbs down.

You know you love the game though....I know you do.

I tried it for a minute or so at the kiosk at Fry's. I left the experience fairly nauseated, but it wasn't motion sickness. It was because I just played a shitty-assed game.

I'll let you know once I get it for Christmas.

And I get motion sickness from games more often now...so we'll see.
