I am looking for a retailer who sells new 1st or 3rd party N64 controllers. I am just getting back into my N64 collection but I only have one controller meaning no Mario Party fun with multiplayer :(
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks
Sam

Try looking for the video game dealer at your local flea market or swap meet.
Mine has stacks of new 3rd party controllers.

Well, I was going to say the Nintendo Online Store, but I just checked and they don't have them anymore. When did that happen?
FYI: The 2nd best alternative is to just buy used 1st party controllers, then buy new thumbsticks for them on ebay. They work just like brand new.

Sorry to hijack the thread but I just wanted to reminisce about back in the day when you there was a shortage of N64 controllers. When the N64 first came out no one had systems or controllers but for some reason eventually the systems could be found but not the controllers. It was even worse when Goldeneye came out. The only place I could find controllers was at my local Kmart and they were marked up and they only had green ones. I think the shortage is why you see such a glut of shittastic third party controllers.

I have a bunch of extra used N64 controllers and one factory sealed green one from when Sears went out of business.

Sometime this fall, I wanted to buy 4 of them to always have a spare and kept putting it off and went a couple months back to order and they had disappeared. :(

Check and see if there are any Nintendo Service Centers in your area. My friend just bought one out last year. He had quite a few new controllers for almost every Nintendo system. He also picked up system shells, power cords, a sweet neon sign and an SNES System counter. Picked it up for a deal too.
If not, just buy a used one and replace the stick as said previously. You'll want to clean out all the gunk the gets stuck between the buttons and such.
I don't know what he has left. he has been selling it at the past couple CCAG meets.

I find third-party ones all the time, new. Places around the Dallas area like Play N' Trade and The Movie Trading Company have new third-party controllers in blister packs, along with replacement power supplies and those memory upgrade things. Of course, they're all made by some shady company in China, so you'll probably get lead poisoning from them, so remember to wear surgical gloves when playing!

Are the replacement joysticks brand new replacements? I once heard they were just cleaned up guts from used controllers.
I don't really need them, my two controllers are still in excellent shape, but I was nervous seeing how wrecked all the controllers are at friends houses and such. Mine haven't sufferred through 12 hour long Goldeneye sessions or Mario Party abuse, so they're still in good shape almost 9 years after getting a Nintendo 64.

Well, according to Gametrader's website, their chain only has one used N64 controller for sale, in a store near Brisbane! It's a bit of a drive from Perth, I'll admit...
I'd check out one of Gametrader's stores and see if they don't have a few laying around. There's three locations around the Perth area. (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=en&geocode=&q=retro+video+game+stores+in+Perth,+Australia&jsv=140g&sll=32.67942,-97.028338&sspn=0.179165,0.301094&g=Grand+Prairie,+TX+75052&ie=UTF8&mrt=kmlkmz&src=mkrns/) And you can always use the Giant Retro Video Game Store map project to find other stores, since Australia's been added recently. Quick browsing note - the Australian locations are on the third page of the maps.

In any thread like this, I always send people to the Nintendo Repair Shop. (nintendorepairshop.com) I've purchased tons of stuff from there, all of it great, including some wicked (and seemingly brand-new, though I don't actually know, since it worked like a mint item) N64 Replacement joysticks. It's a great way to make a used controller feel just like a brand new one.
My god, I just sounded like an advertisement. Remind me not to get excited about online retailers anymore.

I bought a cheapo Third Party controller from the local Play n Trade in Albany NY. Was only 12$ I think. Would rather have a 1st party, but hey, it was new, and available (on top of really wanting another controller) so.

:D
you can find some hori n64 controllers brand new on ebay, they're great and the sticks won't wear down and get loose like the regular n64 sticks. But you're gonna pay through the nose for em :|

I ended up grabbing a new original n64 pad off a friend, and 2 3rd party controllers off ebay. I know they will probably be pieces of crap but I do like having the autofire modes that these yobo pads have and now I can have 4 player mario party :)
While I wait for them to arrive, has anyone had experience with the yobo controllers?

I can't help you there, since I've never found an N64 controller that I could stand to use for more than a millisecond. Which is why I never managed to get into the N64. I only have four games for it, and none I've played for more than five minutes before the God-awful controller design makes me give up in frustration.
