There is probably a thread for this that is a bit older, but I figured for the christmas season, as I scour the local stores for Wii specials and ps3 bundles I figured to ask. As I see shelves empty where Wii systems should be, as PS3's and 360's are sitting collecting dust. Who here has seen any Wii's out and about in the past month or so? (I guess you can count October, too since people go nuts for x-mas gifts on black friday etc.) I haven't seen one at all in months and months at a store. :frustrated:
I finally caved and bought an 80gb PS3 bundle last week- which is unfortunate considering all of the games Ive seen lately that I want to so badly play for the Wii. I just don't feel like overpaying so much from an amazon or ebay seller. I know I just spent the same as I would have on a ps3 bundle, but call me 'stubborn', i guess.
So... I guess the question is... Have you spotted a Wii out in the wild at all since October??? If, 'yes' what store? how many were there? Happy holidays, and good luck if you're on the hunt for one.

I haven't, but your best bet for finding one is to just find out when a certain store gets their shipment in, and go in that morning. Or put it on notify at Amazon.

The Target by me had a whole bunch of them on Saturday. Lots of Mario Kart, too. They're usually sold out of both.

My wife and I just picked up a Wii at our local Gamestop. They had 2 left when we got there, so we snatched one up with the quickness.

My Mom wants a Wii, so she can play Wii Fit. The thing is, thats like $400.00 and I got laid off from work. I would love to deliver one to her on X-mas, but shes getting gift cards instead.
Something tells me she would play it for an hour and it would never be played again, thats just how she is with electronics.
Ill let her borrow mine until she is done with it ( in an hour lol )

I was in a Best Buy a couple weeks ago and they must of just got in a shipment because they had a whole pallet in the isle with Wii's on one side and Wii Fit on the other.

Play n Trade... god awful bundles though, but they had them all the way through last week. Not sure about now. Game Crazy by me usually has some, though there is this guy that comes in and he'll buy all on hand. Some clerks will only sell him 3 a day though. Flipper for sure. When $2-$3k hits the counter for systems you gotta know something is not right (or it's Winter 06 and they are buying a PS3...). Gamestop usually has them in too, dependent upon what day of the week it is. Since they don't put out the boxes I think many people leave without even asking. For every walk-in that does this there is 10 people calling to ask if they have Wii's, Mario Kart or Wii Fit...
I run into Wii hardware stuff a lot. I thought the shortages were just about cleared up. Besides MK and WF, that is.
I've overheard "do you have any Wiis? Sorry, we're out" about 3 dozen times this season, but I've personally seen 5 or 6 that I could have picked up if I needed one.

I was in line at Best Buy a couple days ago and the guy in front of me was buying a Wii, so I've seen 'em but I don't know how many there were since that's not where I was browsing.

I was at Best Buy a bit B4 Thanksgiving. They had a stack of about 50 in the video game isle, and about 100 more stacked in the front of the store. I went back about 5 days later and they were down to less than 25. I got mine, and then haven't seen them in the store since.

Really? Their were like 5 or 6 of them at the Wallyworld in Palmyra, last night while I was there.
Didn't know if you were looking for one also...

last time I saw any was Spetember, when they were saying if you plan to give one as a gift, buy it now... and my mom was saying they're everywhere now, so they'll be everywhere after Christmas too... and I was begging her to just go ahead and buy me one, to save me the trouble of having enough money for one and not being able to find one for 6 months, as she was still insisting that I'd be able to buy one after Chrsitmas... I hope that means that she already has one to sell to me, or she did go ahead and get me one... otherwise I'll prolly blow all my Wii money on something else before they finally reappear again... you'd think my mom would realize how hard they are to get, after what she had to go through to get one for herself and my dad, but she's acting like I don't know what I'm talking about, and I'll be able to get one after Christmas... well I haven't seen any in Houston or Fort Worth!

I'm in Florida and I've seen plenty of Wii's at different Targets this holiday season. But I've never seen Wii Fit in stock all year. I'm not in the market for a Wii but I do out of curiosity check the display cases when I'm in a store.

Wiis are not hard to find. Wii Fit is, at least now it is. When Wii Fit first came out, they had them everywhere.

I haven't been looking for a Wii, since I got mine on launch day. But I have seen them in several stores, I also have seen Wii Fit on a couple occasions, but never bought one.

I've literally only seen a Wii in stock at a store on 5 occassions since they first came out, and none since last summer.

I've been seeing Wii's everywhere now. My local Best Buy has a crap ton of them there from when I last checked in November.

This is probably why Nintendo didn't release a huge A+ game this Christmas. Millions of people are still buying Super Smash Bros. Brawl, Mario Kart Wii, and Wii Fit, so why would Nintendo compete with itself?
