Hey,
I have a PSP 1001, that when I put the charger into to charge an Orange light comes on. It also comes on with just the battery in also. I was wondering if this is worth keeping? If it is how much would this cost to get fixed?
Keep in mind my PSP has no model # sticker & serial # sticker, also missing a screw.
Thanks for any advice. :)

I think you skipped a detail :P
Are you saying it does not power up and when you try, only the orange light comes on? If that is the case, do you have any idea what may have caused it?

Someone may have pandora modded the battery. See if the system turns on with a/c adapter and NO battery.

No details so it's hard to guess. After you try it the way Zektor suggested, if that doesn't identify the problem, try it without a memory card inserted. If that doesn't do it, let it charge all night and see if it will power up after that.

UPDATE:
Yes, thats what I am saying when I try to turn it on an Orange light comes on. I tried this with:
Only the battery still orange,
with the battery & ac adapter still orange
also just ac adapter still orange.
Finally, never had memory card so this is out of the question.
No, there was no pandora mod to the battery. I am the only owner, so I would know.

Charging as we speak, I hope this works.
If not I kinda guess it crap.

Thanks for all that responded.

Anybody else can think of anything.

It didn't come with a memory card? Are you sure you haven't just forgotten that it is in there? Silly question...but it is possible I guess. :)

Do you get a green light at all? Even for only a second before it goes orange? Is it a solid orange or does it flash?

I do get green for a second, it's a solid orange. No flashing at just solid.

Umm...I guess try ensuring WLAN is switched off. Then try charging it again. If that doesn't work, call Sony. Have you installed any software? Homebrew packs, non-official firmware...anything?
