Another VS. Series?

Okay, I loved the VS. Series Fighting games and I am dying to hear something from Crapcom about the future of the series for what seems like an eternity.

Anyway, SNK-Capcom.com had an interview with Chris Jelinek, Vice President of Capcom Entertainment. Here it is:

Anyway, the interview is quite speculative, but seems to suggest that Capcom is developing "DC vs. Marvel vs. Capcom", or something along those lines. But, before we start picking who's gonna be in the projected game, read the interview and give me your thoughts.

Just read the intervies. Exciting news indeed. We haven't seen DC characters in a fighting game since the crappy JLA fighting games for SNES and Genesis. And, although I consider DC's characters to be fairly boring in comparison with Marvel, I think capcom would have a surefire hit on their hands, at least with the comic fanboy community. I mean, hell, we're all one big group of dorks right? I'd say a good portion of hardcore gamers are also hardcore comic readers, even though I'm not anymore.

Fuck Capcom... just leave them out of it and make it straight up DC vs. Marvel.

And I disagree about DC being 'more boring.' I find Marvel's heroes a little too... I dunno... normal for my tastes. I think overall DC is just a better set of heroes... Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, Flash, Green Lantern (Hal Jordan damnit, not that new idiot), Aqua Man... they're just better.

Pffft, Like "Superman" and "Wonder Woman" arent boring enough, you get "Aquaman" and "The Flash". Gee golly, I wonder what any of their powers are?!

While Marvel gives you a load more of exciting and interesting hero's/villans... you get a lot of shitty characters too. Jubilee anyone? Ugh.

I don't know who has the rights to the Image characters in video games. But, interestingly enough, doesn't Image now own the license for the Street Fighter comic book series?

DC characters like Batman, Superman and Doomsday would rock but what about other characters like Witchblade, Painkiller Jane, The Magdelana, The Darkness, The Wildcats (yes I remember that SNES sidescroller beat em up:( , Deathblow, I wouldn't even mind seeing one or two characters from the Gen 13 Comics :)

Imagine Spwn up agaginst some DC and Marvel characters.

I'd like to see Deadpool (or Agent X now) in one myself.

I'd like them to make another Marvel vs. Capcom. I'd also like them to make the Capcom characters MORE MARVEL like. Make them all new sprites. Put Cable next to Ryu, he TOWERS over him. Why should it look like that? I know image doesn't really mean much....well....here I think it does. They also need to beta test the HELL outta this game.


As for vs. type game news, I can't wait for SNK vs. Capcom.

They should leave it Marvel vs Capcom Vs DC, and keep the Capcom characters. The main problem with the Capcom side is that half the characters (Darkstalkers, SF) were not made for the VS series, and therefore, overall suck by comparison to the Marvel end.

I just hope we don't end up with DC/Marvel palette swaps...

This game could be fun...Marvel Vs Capcom 2 still has a big following but it can't keep that going forever. A new one in the series is just what we need.

If it was an Image game it would come out very, very late.

I would like to see a battle of the platfomer characters. Sonic vs. Mario vs. Crash etc.... They could then bring back the original Crash commercials where he is calling out "Plumber Boy" in front of Nintendo HQ.
