If I bought a Master System-Genesis converter, could I play Master System games on this system?

Also, can this use original Sega Genesis controllers?

Forgot something: Can this play games from other regions?

Hm. That's a bummer.

Okay, what about the other regions?

Can anyone confirm this? Or the answers for the other questions?

Thanks in advance, and thanks to those who answered already.

One more question:
Where can I find a full compatibility list?

There's a switch on the back of the unit for Genesis/Mega Drive games.

While I do not have any Japanese or PAL region games to test it with, I believe the switch is to made to allow any games that would be previously "region coded/locked out" on the US Genesis.

You can probably use a Master System Converter by the way of electronics alone, as I believe that DP forum member ooXxXoo (or somebody else, sorry if my memory escapes me) has confirmed this on a Gen-X which is likely identical. The SHELL of a Master System Converter is another story ... it will not fit correctly in the FC3.

You can not use Genesis controllers on a FC3 (or a Gen-X) the 9 pin adapter has a proprietary shape.

Okay. Would Japanese/PAL games fit into the FC3, or would that have the same problem as the MS converter?

They'll fit fine, the slot is wide enough.

Sorry about that. I didn't think to look for other topics.

Sweet. So I won't have to worry too much about that, then?

Thanks for your help! Now my only concern is the controller quality.

Japanese Megadrive games do work work, I've played my copy of DJ Boy. Also, I've heard that the Super Famicom games work with it.

Yeah..the possibility of it breaking concerns me, since I can't seem to find a place to get a new controller if one did break.

Okay. My system came in the mail today. The controllers don't bother me that much, the gun works fine, and the cables are pretty good, length-wise.
But can anyone confirm that it plays Famicom/Super Famicom games as well NES/SNES? Its been confirmed that it plays Mega Drive, so I would assume so. I just want to make sure that the cartridges would fit and would be able to work.

I've played a few SFC games on it with no problem.
I would imagine FC games work with the appropriate adapter, like the honeybee.

They do.

A few HK bootleg carts that I have don't ground properly and have some rolling or audio interference on-screen ... but real FC carts work fine via a Honeybee.

Thanks everyone!
Now all I've got to do is wait for my game to arrive...
