Are some of the fatalities censored? I noticed that the screen goes black during some of the fatalities. I have blood and violence turned ON. What gives?

Sub-Zero's "Spinal Rip" and Scorpion's "Welcome to Hell" fatalities both black out when the good stuff is supposed to happen. It's always been that way, even in the arcades.

Well that blows. Did they start censoring it with MK3 or earlier?

As the previous poster mentioned, it's NOT censored. It's a joke (or just flat out laziness, or both, take your pick) put in the original arcade games by the design team.

I think the biggest problem with those two fatalities is that UMK was an "expansion" type of game where they added more stuff to MK3 and those would have required some sort of additional animations to each opponent for those fatalities and if you look at MK3 and UMK, most of the fatalities end up with an exploding body so in essence all of the characters react the same. Plus, by that time they were trying to make the fatalities as fantasy like as possible.

WTF!?!?!? All I get from that link is "Jingle Cats"!

Or does it just so happen that the fatalities in the DS version have been censored and replaced with these so called "Jingle Cats"???O_O
