I stumbled upon one of these today. It's brand new, still in the wrap, but the wrap has one or two tears. It has the security seal intact, BUT! The UPC has a hole in it. It looks like someone took a paper puncher to it and made the hole.

How much could I sell this for? I want the game, but I want a completely mint copy... I figure I can buy one for much cheaper than whatever this thing would sell for. :p

Hole punch means it was a promo copy from Sony. Otherwise 100% the same as the normal retail release.

No clue to its sealed value though.

The whole punch combined with the wrap tears is going to kill most of the sealed premium this thing has been getting. I've seen them going for $75 to $100 for sealed/mint copies in the last two months on Ebay.

I know people on ebay are stupid, but why? Is it really that rare? All I know is that it didn't sell very well here in the US, which means tons of copies hit the bargin bin and you can actually still find many of those copies as it was a last gen game.

Heck if I know. A friend of mine bought his copy for TEN BUCKS down here. I hate him for it. :P

There were a ton of copies in stores about a year ago, I know I bought one for 10$ and there were plenty. Cant believe the price skyrocketed so much, I knew I should have bought up a ton.

If anyone has a sealed copy they are willing to sell for around the $75 range, PM me.

I had one once...paid $20 for it at Wal-Mart. However, I sold it long before it started fetching a major premium (I think I sold it for $30...). I don't believe it's all that rare really...especially after seeing many copies on the shelves of Gamestop, Wal-Mart, and a few others...I wouldn't consider it any rarer than a 4. But it is a popular title, I suppose...

I have a factory sealed one I found a couple of years ago, wow, I didn't know the price for it had gone up so much.

See, it isn't that rare. I know Gamequestdirect did a reprint of it a while ago (and it was discussed in this same forum). But I don't think that those copies ever had the white security seal... the copies that sell for a lot do seem to have it.

Of course, I COULD be wrong, so if I am, feel free to correct me, folks!

You could say the same thing about Dragon Ball GT Final Bout on the PS1, Rez on the PS2, Marvel Vs Capcom 2 on the Xbox and so on and so on.....

I don't believe it was a gamequest reprint, i think it was ordered by the original publisher (sony?).

The originals have the white seal sticker, right? I think the reprints do not.

To be fair, I can understand people not showing any interest in ICO initially, the American box art is horrific.

Well, I stand corrected. Apologies for the mistake.

I've wanted Ico ever since I've played Shadow of the Colossus.

I once had a chance of getting a mint copy of the game for 5 dollars. I passed on it because this was before SotC and it honestly didn't look that good. The person ended up selling the game along with others to Gamestop. Big mistake on my part.
