Yes. There are five InfoGenius titles. French Translator, Berlitz Spanish Translator, Personal Organizer, Frommer's Travel Guide, and Spell Checker.
Is the Spell Checker rare or valuable? I have that one, loose.

You just completely screwed your argument for being rare.

Anyway, this thread is about US games with US seals of quality in terms of rarity. Mr. Do IS hard to find as a US version, but easier in Europe. Same goes with F1 Pole Position.

It's all relative to when you actually start looking. Spud's Adventure is stupidly hard as well CIB.

my comment was meant as my personal subjective view. your comment doesn't make much sense, but maybe you misunderstood my meaning.

anyway they are both quite rare, but i view the jap version as more so, because i've passed up opportunities to buy the euro version boxed, but the jap one keeps slipping through my fingers. not to mention that the only recorded sale i could find, was substantially more than the boxed euro cart i saw on ebay. of course this could be an anomaly.

weird. I'm not really finding any of them on eBay right now. Normally they are pretty common to find. I'd still say they are common, but we are currently in an InfoGenius recession.

are you sure about this? Why would that be?

gameboy is a truly international (handheld) platform, with unique releases in the us, japan, holland, france, the uk, exclusive to their respective countries, but happily playable on my gameboy and your gameboy.

Thereofre shouldn't this discussion not be biased against a broader view of collecting (and our concept of relative rarity)?(or not).

All of my comments are valid only for US releases. It is very difficult for a me, and most folks I'd guess, to be able to determine average values and rarities on games not released in the country in which I live. Import games may be fun, but beyond that it's too hard to say.

i see your point. Still, hopefully it wont remain that way forever. digitalpress determines value in part (i believe) my surveying venders, it would seem that a global version of that combined with long-term monitoring of online auctions , ebay, yahoo japan, et al, rarity could be determined of ALL gameboy titles, not just our local portion.

Hey 3rdman,thanks for the comments.
One thing you will learn here on DP, USAers are only (mostly) interested in US releases-only and even consider their collection complete when owning all US releases of 'insert-name-here' system/console. It's the American way :-)

It is a US website. Everyone has their own interests. I collect Game Boy games released in Europe/Australia not released in the US...I think I may only need 1 or 2 of them now...

well, i understand. perhaps my own collecting philosophy is not widely practiced, but i only collect gameboy ( which has no region lock out like consoles mostly do) so it just seemed natural to view all worldwide releases equally. that must be my influence. if i had been a NES collector first, perhaps i view all imports as not part of complete collection.
