How often do you guys search flea markets, yard sales or ebay for old games? For me, it's almost constant. I'm not talking about going to GameStop to look at their PS2 selection. I mean real treasure hunting.

I apologize if this thread exists already, I'm new to this forum.

Every single Saturday from 8AM to 3PM in the summer, about every other Saturday from February to May and October & November (just depends on how many sales are going on) I'm at garage sales. Sundays in the summer, I spend 1-2 hours at the flea market.
I usually only go to thrifts about once a month, or if I happen to be in the area I'll stop.
But, I generally take December and January off all together just as a time to take a break and tidy up things in my collection.

For me once or twice a week, all depending on my mood, and if I have money to burn.

Same here. Though I'll also do it just to look without the intent of purchase, even though I most likely have the money.

I hit up most pawn shops and thrift stores every Monday.

I did have the maximum number of favorite searches for various games all over the world on ebay. Plus I abuse the local bus tickets that let you travel all over the county for £5 to look for shops that might have some cheap old games. Plus bootfairs are great.

Pretty much every day.

There are 4 thrifts about 3 blocks away from me, one across the street, and a couple pawn shops in walking distance too.

Most weeks I go to the swap meet saturday night or sunday morning, and I go yard saling maybe once a month.

There's a Goodwill that I pass on my way home from work that I stop at everyday. There are also certain things that I search for everyday on craigslist at least once.

And whenever I am driving anywhere for any reason and I pass a thrift store or garage sale I stop.

Other than that sometimes my wife and I will spend a day thrifting and we make a big loop and hit as many thrifts as possible. But that doesn't happen as much as I'd like.

I search for deals on newer games more often than I do for older games. I'd say I only look for older games at thrift stores a few times a month at the most.

I search a lot more in the summer than in fall, but at least once a month I go with my friend Dave to Next Level and buy at least 50 bucks in assorted crap. My Parents hate it when I go because they feel that I'm pissing my money away, but it makes me happy.

I work at a thrift store so I search there 4-5 times a week and then Craigslist is 4-5 times a day. Ebay is less often, maybe once a week, as I haven't found any great deals on there.

Only when I have time, but by that time there's always goodies I end up buying.

A real video game hunting trip? Maybe once every 2-3 months these days. The area seems to still be fairly dry for anything of interest.

About every other weekend I hit up the flea markets and thrift stores pretty hard.

I try to hit the thrifts once a week, or sometimes twice if I'm splitting up territories. Northern areas on one day, Western areas the next day off. I haven't been motivated all that much lately, since it's so hard to find anything because of all the eBay resellers.

I end up working on weekends a whole lot, since I keep ending up with lazy bosses, so I don't hit flea markets all that often. And when I do, I usually don't come home with much. I only go shopping for games that I want rather than looking for what I can make money off of like a lot of people.

There is a thrift store right down the street from my college and last semester before Christmas I found myself going to it everyday between classes to check and see if they had any games.

Online pretty much everyday. Ebay, Amazon and a few private forums like DP.

IRL, it depends on availability. I don't have a car =/

Flea markets never pawn shops well i use to.These days i'll just check retailers circuit city, best buy and game crazy for the most part.As for games on older consoles ebay, amazon beside any site that sells import games and the forums that i post at.

Though...just about every day i get online more looking for deals on games even if i'm just looking.

I was going to say everyday, but I think your answer is in better context.

Same problem here, but I hunt even less.

I do have a few pawn shops and thrift stores within walking distance that I visit from time to time. I never really find anything though. :)

Most of my game purchases are online anymore, sadly.

I tend to online window shop on a daily basis, checking prices and making lists of the next things I want. This area does not have a ton of great options for treasure searching, so much of my buying is online (especially from DP folks).

Yeah it's definitely more satisfying to find a real gem in person rather than the internet. I try to go to independant game shops/thift stores/pawn shops when I'm traveling. But I'll look online almost every day even if I don't buy anything.

I don't know of too many good places in the Boston area even though I live here. If any Boston people have suggestions I'd love to hear them.

You know that you hunt constantly when YOU know the local used game shop's inventory better than the staff do, and you can tell at a glance that something "new" was added since you were in last. We have a great used game shop/thrift shop on our plaza so I'm in there literally several times a day. Lunch? Pop in and see what got traded in that morning. When we close up shop? Pop in and see what got traded in that afternoon. I score lots of great stuff. Anywhere there's used games, I'll take a look. It's a subconciously constant thing.
