Complete? Maybe.

They have been selling GBCs at my local Gamestop for years for $5 each.
Check there first, they keep accepting them because they are easy to sell.

A loose Gameboy Color isn't worth $20 anymore. I would say it's worth $10 at most, but even I wouldn't spend that much on one. I often find a lot of games for sale on craigslist and I end up getting a spare Gameboy/Pocket/Color/Advance thrown in with it. I used to see them at thrift stores for $1.99, even an Advance at one point.
It's still good to have a Color system around, some games can't really be played on an SP system(Kirby Tilt 'n' Tumble for example).

You shouldn't pay more than 10$ for a GBC.
And maybe you should consider a GBA SP. You can get one for like 10-15$ used and they will play GBC games just fine, along with all the advantages of the SP.

I agree with what everyone else has said, it's not worth 20 or even 10 unless you can open the battery door and still smell the new plastic.

I got my SP for this kind of price right here on DP, works perfectly. I saw one or two other below 20$ in the last few months.
You have to hunt for a bargain and hope to be lucky. But with the DS being so popular, it's no surprise seeing the price of GBA reaching that low.
Hell, I also saw used DS going for like 35-40$ O_o.

GameStop actually stopped taking in Game Boy and GBC stuff (including the systems) a while ago. But if you know of a GameStop that actually has a GBC left, it'll be $2.49 after the 75% "clear 'em out" discount.
I got my atomic purple GBC for $5 at a Goodwill in early 2007. I wouldn't recommend paying more than $10 for one unless it comes with a few games, or is complete in box.

Naw, not worth 20 dollars. Ebay sells them for 10, Amazon sells them for 10, thrift shops sell them 5-10... flee markets the same. If you found a new one, pick that thing up for 20, but if it's used don't pay more than 12.

I picked up an extra GBC at a local indoor flea market for $2.25. I don't mind having an extra at that price.

Way too much. Advances at my Gamestop are 25, SP's are 50. I wouldn't pay over 10, personally.

The only reason for having a second GBC would possibly be for the Pokemon infra-red mystery gift option...but that's not worth more than $5.

$20 is about $10 too much.
However, I'd actually consider buying it for that price if I were having really bad luck finding games and hadn't picked up anything for 3-4 weeks. Just one of those things I might overpay a little on just to avoid going home empty handed while I am out looking. A spare GBC is never a bad thing to have. I used to have 5 or 6 but now have 2 in my collection.
I've actually used them a few times as inexpensive gifts for friends who I know don't have a Gameboy, just bundle them with a copy of Tetris or something and it usually goes over well with people I give them to.
