Anyone have an AC adapter that can be used for an Adventure Vision system.
I just want to borrow it to see if I can get one to work with AC instead of battery.
I will gladly pay shipping both ways and throw in something extra for your time and trouble

Take your Adventure Vision to Radio Shack, and they should be able to match up an adapter with it. This is how I got an adapter for an Arcadia 2001 that I found at a thrift store.

I'd say the same basic thing but substitute Fry's for Rat Shack. I bought a pretty decent multi voltage kit that came with about 8 or so different tips there. As long as you match up the polarity right, it should have what it needs.
Did you get the one from Burleson?

I am in Burleson and contacted the guy, he didn't have an ac adapter to use, the batteries don't work, so I told him if it worked with an AC adapter I would buy it. So that is why I was wanting an AC adapter to try it out.
The guy got it from a lady when he helped clean out her garage. Talk about nice old lady
I have a picture, but it isn't your normal hookup, it looks odd like a headphone jack almost, but is labeled AC adapter on the back, the headphone jack is on the side.
Anyone have any idea as to voltages, etc?

There was an Adventurevision running around the Metroplex? I'd have loved to have gotten my grubby mitts on it. How much did it cost?

That's what a lot of older electronics used for AC adapters back then, same with the Atari 2600. A universal adapter should come with the proper type of connection.
What's wrong with the batteries? Is the battery compartment corroded? If that's what the problem is, clean it out and try the batteries. I usually file off the corrosion when I'm cleaning something like that.

I'm sure it's the same as whatever the batteries add up to. I can't remember what it takes but it's 6 volts DC if it takes 4 C or D batteries and 9 volts DC if it takes 6 batteries. FYI, if I was considering buying something off of Craiglslist I would not post info about it on a public forum until it was in my possession. Good luck! Looks like a good deal if you can get it to work.
