I was playing virtua fighter 5. I've got a hard wired (no wireless) setup with a cable modem at the highest transfer speed you can get from Comcast. I found several players, who's characters, for lack of a better term seem liked they'd been taking speed. Their player animations before the match were moving extremely fast when compared to anyone else I've played. During actual gameplay, they seem to be moving alot faster than they should be. I've seen all kinds of interesting cheating on xbox live but how the hell did they "speed up" their guys?

Is there any delay at all?

Like, for instance, nothing happens for a few seconds, and then all of a sudden, they are moving super fast and pwning you?

If that is so, it could be the opposite, and it could be lag, where the signal is getting sent to the game and since there is a delay, it could be sending it all at once (I remember this was bad when I played the dc online since it used a 56k).

I don't know, just an idea

Sounds like classic lag bursting to me.

Have your ISP check your connection for packet loss.
