I know this is a weird question and I didn't know if it should be posted in buying/selling as I'm not offering for them more in the fact looking at possibilities...
but what do people do with those sega cd/saturn foam inserts? They are always lost! You'd think you would see them for sale in lots like the snes dust covers :?
Does anyone know a website that stocks them for sale or? I haven't been successful in my searches. I'm hoping other things used these types of cases in the real world I could maybe look at too? :hmm:

That sounded more dumb than Fred Durst. In all the times I've been to that craptacular store, I've never seen anything of the sort. Damn overpriced compact disc stores.

May as well go to Home Depot and get some foam material and cut it up. It's probably cheaper this way.

Next on the agenda: Finding a source for styrofoam sheets we can cut into strips to replace the foam bricks at the bottom of NES cart boxes.

At work we have boxes of parts that are shipped to us and one particular box has the inside lined with a sheet of foam. The foam is just a hair thicker than the ones that Sega used, but is essentially a giant sheet that you can cut out your own blocks.
I used to take them everyday and got about 10 - 12 blocks per sheet. After finally cutting around 150 blocks most of my Sega Saturn games and Sega CD games have them. Although I have since acquired some more games that are foamless, I need a better way to cut them apart. With scissors it takes too long and doesn't have an even edge.
Maybe I'll try on of the paper cutters at work tomorrow and if it works smoothly and the results look good, I wouldn't mind helping some fellow DPers out!

I can buy these foam inserts from my job without any problems, I'd be willing to sell them cheap to anyone interested. Just PM me with how many you'd like and I'll give you a price.

Been done by a few people on this forum.
Thread is old but Darth Sensi sold them click me (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=100374) and i'm pretty sure that if you PM either Uncletusk (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/member.php?u=24318) or nationgamedepot (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/member.php?u=7925) as they are both quite active in NES repo stuff and i'm sure one of them has a garage full of styros.
I'd be interested in the foam for PS longboxes depending on the price. I've got a good chunk that are missing them.

I have a bunch of these (from Saturn games). If you want them, send me a PM. I'll try to count how many I have tonight.

Reading this thread brought to mind my own question about what do people do with the plastic boxes that the Sega Genesis game carts were packed in? What did they do with the manuals? I have always stored my games and manuals in those boxes. I'm now finding that if I purchase some of the used Nintendo DS games, I am running into the same problem.
Any of the Sega Genesis games that I have found in the wild, that were still in their original plastic boxes, have always been close to mint condition.
