No more systems or games will be traded in starting in February. They will also have Buy something, get XXXX games free promotions to start easing the inventory out.

And yet, they still take in GCN systems and games.

I already posted the news here (http://www.digitpress.com/forum/showthread.php?t=126474). I didn't think it was worth posting in Daily Deals and Discounts since there really isn't a deal going on yet.

And yet, they still take in GCN systems and games.

As I stated in my thread, I'm not expecting Gamecube stuff to be phased out anytime soon due to the full backwards compatibility with the Wii, even if the GCN selection at some stores is pretty small.

I would never trade any Xbox stuff to Gamestop anyway. I remember asking them about a year ago how much they would give in trade for Outrun Coast 2 Coast and I think they quoted me $4. Meanwhile, they didn't have any copies in their store and would have most likely sold it for $29.99. There are very few good Xbox games that I still need for my collection and unless GS had them at sub $5 price levls I wouldn't give them the time of day.

I'm gonna go check out what my local stores have, I was browsing their online catalog, which lists around 500 titles, and over half of the games they had listed are $10 or less, a lot of games I'm interested in too. I would imagine after Feb 9th, they'll probably clearence all the games out as well, much like they did with the GB and GBC after they stopped accepting trade ins on those, so it looks like I picked a decent time to start picking up Xbox games. :)
