Today, one of my co-workers was about to get rid of her PSP system(trash can) because the power port connector of it broke....I was lucky enough to be around, so I got it instead...

I'm going to replace it, probably from a PSP accessory that may have a built-in compatible power port connector, since these seem to be cheap around any Gamestuck ,.....Can anyone recommend a possible donor?....

Fun Fact: The PSP can charge off of the USB port. It's a setting you have to enable in the menus though.

I think that might only be a PSP 2000/3000 feature.

Though ... you can get an external battery charger for all models of the PSP as well.

Interesting how many charging options there are for a unit with a broken power port connector.

is it only a 2000/3000 feature?

Cause I've got a 1001, and it would be really awesome if I could charge it through the USB.

I thought it was an option in the custom firmware for the 100x, but i'm not sure. Mine broke years ago. I could very well be wrong.

I checked around and you need to physicially mod the PSP 1000 to allow for USB charging.

But on a 2000/3000 you can charge via the USB while the unit is powered on (if the option is turned on in power settings).

Full sleep or powered down modes you'll still need to charge via the power port.
