Yesterday I stumbled upon a seller on Craigslist looking to sell a Neo 2-slot cab. While I wasn't interested in buying anything, I noticed a link to a video of the seller's game room in his ad and checked it out. Impressed, I left him a five star comment and made a mention of doing some business down the road.
To my surprise later in the day I received a message back from the seller telling me outright that he was intending to give away the Neo 2-slot, as well as a Killer Instinct cab with Soul Calibur in it (it ended up being Soul Edge, but that's a personal fave anway). Needless to say I was pretty amazed at his offer and made a mad dash to Belcamp MD tonight to pick up the cabs.
Well, here's what I got-

Overall I'm pretty amped about the haul. The two slot conversion has a bit of an unorthodox button layout, but overall the controls are nice and responsive, and the monitor is pretty bright. The cab is old though, it's an old Atari cab but I'm not sure what game it originally was. The monitor didn't have any kind of frame in the back which is pretty disappointing, but not a big deal. Also, the two slot is in the rear of the cab which makes changing games a bit of a bitch, but it's not the end of the world. I ended up giving the cab to a friend of mine though as he's wanted to get into the hobby for a while now. Needless to say he's pretty thrilled.
The KI cab needs some vinyl and painting done, which I'm going to start tomorrow more than likely, and the CP plexi needs replacing, but all of the buttons work great and the monitor isn't too shabby. I quite like the cab, and it's got some pretty great sound. I've sunk a few hours into Soul Edge already tonight and it's bringing back a ton of memories.
Anyway, here's a new video of my current arcade setup to go with the new cabs.
