haha i figured that would be the answer, but i also know that people lean to the DS lineup. im not partial to any yet, but the ps2 does look like it has a pretty good variety. how was the psone with rpgs?

Judging by your initial question I had decided that you were an rpg fan. But then you ask this above question... have you been in prison and unable to play rpgs for the last fifteen years?

To answer your question, the ps1 is damn good when it comes to rpgs, possibly the best. The SNES is also high on that list. Depending on the day I'd say the ps2/ps1/snes are the best systems for rpgs. The DS is doing quite well, too.

I was a member of the snes/sega generation and then went right to n64/dreamcast/xbox. my brother had the playstation but that was off limits for me at the time, big brothers suck hahaha. And honestly, when i was little i was not into rpgs and in the last 2 years have grown into them. i prefer their style over most other game genres, except the good old platformer <3.

PC without a doubt (including the old ones, C64, Apple ][, A8)

If I wanted sheer quantity (besides the PC) I'd go PS2....but I'd look at either the DS or even the PSP as well.

SNES for me. I've recently been playing the DeJap'ed Star Ocean 1 and it has reminded me of how good gaming used to be in those days :)

If it's a system you're going to collect for I would go for PS2 *now* since you can still find the games in the store, PS1 games are pretty much left to thrifts/classic game stores/online.

PSX, PS2, SNES, GBA, then PSP or DS.

A 60GB PS3. Thus you can collect PS1/PS2/PS3.

Also someone will likely chime in about a modded PSP with emulation...

I like the PC myself though...

Nope. Not forgetting it. The PS2 can play it's games too.

I'd say PS2 has the most and the best rpgs I've played. I think the PSP is my second favorite as far as rpgs go but the only thing with that is there are too many of them that r SRPGs. I do enjoy playing them, but they are probably my least favorite out of the different types of rpgs (besides mmos but I don't even touch those). PSP could easily steal PS2's thunder for being the great rpg system in my book. PSP has Star Ocean 2 and Mana Khemia comming to it very soon, which just adds more good rpgs to the list. Ps2 just had Persona 4 released and Ar Tonelico 2 is comming real soon too. Either way, no fan of rpgs should be without a ps2 or psp.

Anyway to add something constructive the Ps2 is the platform of choice for the sheer quantity of titles although if you could track down a bc PS3 then you have the choice of not only playing psx/ps2 but also in HD.

PS2. GBA for portables, though the DS is getting there.

(None of them top the SNES, though.)
