Who's the king here? Although Virtua Tennis is undeniably one of my favorite sports games, Def Jam Vendetta and NBA Street Volume 2 (2 of my current favorites) make me give the nod to EA Sports BIG.

I like NBA Street Vol. 2, it's the next generation NBA JAM.
Sega's NFL2K series was decent when I played it, haven't played the newest version. NBA2k3 is ok, but has so many flaws and stupid problems, I'm not really sure how whoever programmed it still has a job.
Regular EA sports still wins with the Madden series. And actually I'm having fun playing MVP Baseball, they've definately improved since the last time I played Triple Play.

I suck at NBA Street so I don't like it. Have always loved SSX though (and it's followup).
I've played a few of the Sega sports titles but only casually. I love World Series Baseball for Xbox though.
If this were a poll I'd probably vote EA Big, but not by much. To be honest I need to play NHL 2K2 on my DC more (and pick up some of their other offerings).

I always played EA hockey games until I played NHL 2k3. It might not look as good as the EA hockey, but it plays great. The best thing about it is the defense. You can't shot or pass through them every time.

I give the nod to EA, but I will never forgive them for making sled storm 2 like SSX. The first Sled storm was a fun game, sled strom for PS2 very boring and had everything but snowmobiles in it.

I have every hockey game that EA has ever released every year for one system or another except for 2003 when I opted for NHL 2k3.
I found 2k3 more challenging, realistic with more playablity that 2003. (Internet playablilty help too :) )
But I would have to give EA the edge for games like NBA Street and SSX series.

This is an apples-and-oranges comparison, isn't it? It would be fair to compare plain-Jane EA Sports and Sega Sports, but the closest thing to BIG would be Midway Sports' "extreme" lineup, and even that's dubious.
In terms of sales, it's well documented that both EA Sports and BIG have destroyed Sega; Madden's humiliation of NFL2K was the most notable lowlight.
