Keyboard/Joypad Combo Controllers

Anyone ever use one of those Joypad/Keyboard combo controllers? I was thinking of getting one for FFXI, but they look so bulky. Is it hard to play with them? Am I better off just getting a separate keyboard? I've also been told that a mouse is useful for this game, I wonder why you would need a mouse when you have the joypad? I guessI'll find out.

I like the ones for the Colecovision, Jaguar, and Intellivision best... :-D

Actually, it depends on how you're set up for space. You can get a USB keyboard really cheap almost anywhere, but you'll need more room for both the keyboard and the controller than the combo.
