Does anyone know about bad snes carts, i.e. carts not working/not working properly. I got a pal super metroid cart that wont start up, have cleaned it with isopropyl alcohol, but always the same result, a black screen.

Also i just finished FFVI for snes and the ending stops early in with a black screen although the music continues on.

Spoiler:
This occurs after the Gogo cut scene, where he mimics Celes

I saw the full ending at youtube, but damn, disappointing to say the least!

Anyway im using a pal snes with a converter. Im guessing that wont make a difference though, cause it played through the rest of game fine.

super metroid takes a few extra seconds to boot up, i'd wait a bit to see.

if you used the sketch glitch anywhere in the game (on purpose or by accident) it very often screws up the ending sequence so you can't go through it. (as well as other random events in the game), only way to really fix it is use the game genie code that resets all in game events.

No i dont think i triggered the sketch glitch. I may have sketched a couple monsters thats it, or cant you sketch ANY monsters whatsoever? Although someone owned it before me and they may have triggered it. My file is normal i see nothing wrong with it like stacks of gemboxes or whatever.

That really sucks if thats the only way to fix it, at least there is a way though. I only have a Pro Action Replay 2, will that suffice. Anyway thanks, you seem to help me out on most my threads.

if its a version 1.1 game sketch is very glitchy with alot of monsters (not just gau or invisible enemies) "test rider" is another one that screws it up, the sketch glitch basicly screws around with any of your "current" data ,the item thing is just a nice side effect, i'd try starting a new game it should work fine as the sketch glitch only screws up the current save file. (assuming thats your problem of course)

The FF3 ending crash is a known problem with PAL systems, and not related to the sketch glitch. Super Metroid might have trouble as it has a region check.

Well, thats a relief! So weird, it played through fine except other than the ending part. Also one other thing was the item screen being black, except if you fight a battle somewhere with the one exception being the map/world screen. Im guessing thats Pal/NTSC issue too.

The Super Metroid is a pal cart. Ive just come to the conclusion, its broken, some how.
