Hi Arasoi,

I LOVE my Famicom system. I don't know why (and I don't think Nostalgia alone is enough to justify it), but I have so much fun everytime I bring a new Famicom game home ! No later than last week, I received Super Star Force which I though was a straight shooter - and yet again, what a surprise to find out that you could get out of the ship and explore places by foot ! This is what I love about those games, they still manage to amaze me.
By the way, I've been reviewing a lot of Famicom Disk games on my site, at Video Game Den (http://www.videogameden.com/vgden_fds.htm) :)

Thanks! The game is great, but I did notice one odd thing. I think they stole the hardhat powerup sprite from the metool enemies in Rockman. Oddities abound!

Enjoy? Listing that game seems funny to me since everything else I'm familiar with has a reputation as a pretty good game. I think the next FC game I want to pick up is Exerion, also a shooter (although a different kind), also has a bad rep but I like the arcade version at least.

Yup I traded Dragon Warrior 1, 2 and 4 (always had a hard time finding 3) at the location in Richmond's Carytown district, just a few doors from the Byrd Theatre

Oh I also gave up that Gneration NEX system and managed to get 15 in credit for that too.

Im fairly pleased with how this turned out. The end labels never touch the original labels and are easily removable if I choose to. It's nice to have everything alphabetized and easy to access.

Now I just need to buy some old 3.5 floppy disk storage boxes for my FDS games.

Nope, just Mahjong, the Famicom launch title.

The best part of the game is the pause screen. Of all the games I could have potentially gotten, I got like one of only two pulse line to FDS conversions that REQUIRE Japanese.

Ironically I have that one too, I think its like.. a green cart. I think those are like the SMB/Duck Hunt carts in Japan because they seem to be ubiquitous. I dont list either of them because they were bonus items in orders I made (and I dont like Mahjong)

I also like to add that if you're also gonna shop around for Japan-only Konami titles (and that's an absolute must!), Konami also made this distingushable feature on their smaller carts, they bore a small hole straight through the upper left hand side of the cartridge. and on the upper right hand corner, Look for the RC-XXX (Item ID number)

Proving nearly every rule to detect legit FC games from fakes has exceptions...
Some of Konami's later games came in standard Nintendo shells, though.
(the only one such game I own is Quarth. Though I believe Yume Penguin Monogatari (Dream Penguin Story) did, too.)

For a system, if you were looking at cheap famiclones you would get about the same compatibility rate as a Famicom cart adapted into the NES. An adapter can cost between 20-50 dollars and would be a good choice.

The user InsaneDavid on here has a nice page showing how to make one on the cheap from a Gyromite cart as well.

I've been wanting Shin Jinrui The Riki New Type for some time, and looking through that list I found out about a few games that are totally new to me.

Question time:
Is Tokyuu Shirei Solbrain (the FC version of Shatterhand) worth getting? I already have Shatterhand.
