Hey everyone,i was just wondering if anyone had any very high resolution scans of the box covers for Super Mario Brothers 2 or any Famicom Disc games for that matter. I actually found a few discs and was thinking of giving them covers using universal media cases. Thanks in advance.

Yeah, I've got a few. Only the ones in my own personal collection, but better'n nothing. That DOES include Mario 2j, btw.
Just click the "my collection" link in my signature, find the game you want, and right-click its box image, then click "view image" -- this will bring up the HUGE image (super-hi-res), which you can right-click & save as. Enjoy ^_^
EDIT: Note: FDS games are mostly at the very beginning and very end of the collection, but a few (F1 race is an example I can think of) may be in the middle somewhere. Just surf through. Good luck!
EDIT2: Somehow Mario 2j was not listed in my collection, no clue where it went. Here's a direct link to the newly-uploaded cover image. Sorry about that: SMB2j High-Res Cover (http://aclbandit.ucoz.com/mario2.png)

I think we should, as a community, make a push towards scanning as much import boxart as possible at good resolutions. The scarcity of even the most popular games in decent resolution is disturbing. I love that classic artwork and it's such a major part of the culture of gaming that it's sad to see it somewhat ignored.

I cant agree with this statement enough...
Its just finding the spare time inbetween work, gaming and sleep to do so! :(

I don't, at least not yet. I'll try to get to that soon and let you know. I'll get the whole thing, since it's one piece that goes in a "U" shape inside the case. PM me and remind me if you don't have 'em within a few days so I don't forget.

I'm with Cryomancer and Cauterize. I'm currently bringing my collection data up to snuff, and the difference between the modern systems and the Atari systems (thanks to AA) and the rest of the systems (domestic and international) in regards to the availability of high-res, non-watermarked images is appalling.

I think it's actually possible to have two separate games on one disk.
One of the upsides of single-sided disk drives, as long as the games on each side are 64k or less. :p

Yep, and many FDS games take up both sides; Mario 2 is one of the few that actually only takes a single side of the disk. Mostly the Side A is the save files, and Side B is the game. Since Mario 2 doesn't save... (goddammit)... the other side is blank, unless it was rewritten at a diskwriter kiosk thing.

Here's a link(no pun intended) to a High-RES pic of High-RES pic of Zelda II (http://www.planetnes.com/images/FDS_pics/ZeldaII_book2.png) for the FDS.
Unfortunately, all I have is the booklet. I don't have the spine/cover. But I hope that does help some.

I've got a complete copy. As I stated earlier, if anyone needs the high-res scans of any of the parts of any of the FDS games in my collection, all of them I possess are complete, so I'll gladly scan 'em. And if ever my "high-res" scans aren't high-res enough, let me know-- I'll gladly do it higher.
Summary: if it's in my collection, and you need scans of any part, they're yours-- just ask.
