View Full Version : List of Hybrid Games

I'm looking for a list of hybrid games from the last gen until present. I don't think it will be a very long list because I'm not counting compilations or anthologies. So no SNK collections(of three or more games), Midway arcade treasures or Legend of Zelda collector's editions. And another rule: it has to be two full games, not one full game and a demo. I'm also not interested in games where you have the original that can be unlocked on the newer version, such as Spy Hunter and stuff like that. This is my list so far:

Dreamcast
Street Fighter 3: Double Impact: SF3: 2nd Impact/SF3: New Generation

Gamecube
Darkened Skye/Outlaw Golf
The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker/Metroid Prime

Xbox
Crash Bandicoot: Wrath of Cortex/Crash Nitro Cart
Jet Set Radio Futire/Sega GT 2002
King of Fighters 2002/King of Fighters 2003
Metal Slug 4/Metal Slug 5
NCAA Football 2005/Top Spin
Outlaw Golf/Seablade
Shrek 2/Sharktale
Sonic Heroes/Super Monkey Ball Deluxe
Sonic Mega Collection Plus/Super Monkey Ball Deluxe
Star Wars: The Clone Wars/Tetris Worlds
Street Fighter Collection: Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike/Hyper Street Fighter 2
TOCA Race Driver 2/Colin McRae Rally 04 (2 discs)

PS2
Bejeweled 2/Astro Pop
Gradius III & IV
Guitar Hero/Guitar Hero 2
Gunbird Special Edition (Gunbird 1 & 2)
King of Fighters 2000/King of Fighters 2001
King of Fighters 2002/King of Fighters 2003
Metal Slug 4/Metal Slug 5
1945 I & II The Arcade Games (aka Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol 1)
Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol 2: Sengoku Ace/Sengoku Blade
Psikyo Shooting Collection Vol 3: Soul Divide/Dragon Blaze
Psyvariar Complete Edition (Psyvariar Medium Unit/Psyvariar Revision)
Steel Dragon EX (Steel Dragon/Steel Dragon Evolution)
Street Fighter Collection: Street Fighter 3: 3rd Strike/Hyper Street Fighter 2

Xbox 360
Forza Motorsport 2 & Viva Pinata
Guitar Hero 2/Guitar Hero Aerosmith
Kung Fu Panda/Lego Star Wars
Marvel: Ultimate Alliance/Forza 2

I know, that list is huge. But thats all that I could find so far. Surely I've missed a few. I know that the Snes also had several hybrid games and I may add them to the list as well. But for now, I want hybrid games from either the Xbox, PS2, Gamecube, Dreamcast and any from the current gen.

There's a Marvel Ultimate Alliance/Forza Motorsport 2 pack for 360 that's always clogging up the shelves at Gamestops. Those are on seperate discs, though, I think.

I thought you might mean hybrids that will play on more than one system. The only one I know of like that is Sneak King, which has an Xbox and Xbox360 verson of the game on the same disk. Would that technically count?

Off the top of my head I know of the Xbox NCAA Football 2005/Top Spin 2, the 360 has Forza 2/Marvel Ultimate Alliance, KoF 2002/2003 is also available on the PS2.

Edit: Found a few more for Xbox Crash Bandicoot Wrath of Cortex/Crash Nitro Cart, Shrek 2/Sharktale, Sonic Heroes/Super Monkey Ball Deluxe, Sonic Mega Collection Plus/Super Monkey Ball Deluxe. These hybrids are all Platinum Hits titles.

I was unsure of how to word the thread (dual games, double games, hybrid) so thats how I came up with that. The Sneak King is the same game regardless of the system you play it on so that one wouldn't count for this list. But I have updated the list with all the feedback you'll have been mentioning. Hopefully we can find some more. Thanks guys.

Bringing up the SNK games, they also issued a Metal Slug 4/5 double set on Xbox and PS2.

I'm trying to think of any newer examples, but I'm drawing something of a blank! I remember some older ones like the Sega CD double sets, but not so much recent. I take it Orange Box has too many games to count.

Edit: Sorry, my suggestions didn't follow the criteria. Will repost if I can think of some that do.

I know you said no Zelda Collector's Edition, BUT there was a Wal-Mart special edition that I think should be included. It was Zelda: Wind Waker/Oot incl. Master Quest which was a limited edition. It's a main Zelda game which includes the bonus Master Quest... but it's your list, so feel free to disagree :P

For ps2,
Call of Duty: Legacy (Call of Duty: Finest Hour and Call of Duty 2: Big Red One)
Grand Theft Auto Double Pack (Grand Theft Auto III and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City)
xbox,
Grand Theft Auto Double Pack

Unfortunately these are all in seperate cases and thus are not really a hybrid of two seperate games in one case. So they can't make the list.

Will Hybrid Heaven for the n64 count? :p

Not this yearLOL

As I sit here looking at that very game I'm a little perplexed as to rather I should include it or not. It's actually Legend of Zelda: WW/Legend of Zelda: OOT/Legend of Zelda:OOT Master Quest. That technically makes it three games. But I'll keep it under consideration.

The Legend of Zelda: Wind Waker/Metroid Prime? When did this come out.....I see it on ebay but have never seen it before.

It was a pack in game with special edition Gamecubes. Speaking of which, there was another Gamecube hybrid with Mario Kart Double Dash but I can't recall the other game.

The list has been updated with the new info. Keep up the good work guys.

Why did you leave the GBA out? If you decide to add GBA games, here's the double packs I know of:

-Castlevania Double Pack (Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow)
-Crash Superpack (Crash Bandicoot 2: N-Tranced, Crash Nitro Kart)
-Crash/Spyro Superpack (Crash Bandicoot Purple: Ripto's Rampage, Spyro Orange: The Cortex Conspiracy)
-Golden Nugget Casino/Texas Hold 'Em
-GT Advance 3/Moto GP
-Monster Trucks/Quad Desert Fury
-Ms. Pac-Man Maze Madness/Pac-Man World
-Rayman 10th Anniversary (Rayman Advance, Rayman 3)
-Sonic Advance + Sonic Pinball Party
-Spider-Man 2-in-1 Game Pack (Spider-Man, Spider-Man 2)
-Spider-Man: Mysterio's Menace/X2: Wolverine's Revenge
-Spyro Superpack (Spyro: Season of Ice, Spyro 2: Season of Flame)
-Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles double pack (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/TMNT 2: Battle Nexus)
-Yu-Gi-Oh Double Pack (The Sacred Cards, Reshef of Destruction)

Diggers / Oscar
Dangerous Streets / Wing Commander
Overkill / Lunar-C
Sleepwalker / Pinball Fantasies
Project X / Ultimate Body Blows
Project X / F17 Challenge
Alien Breed SE / Qwak
Alien Breed: Tower Assault / Alien Breed 2 (The cover doesn't acknowledge this, but it is mentioned on the back of the box)
The Humans 1 & 2
Classic Lotus Trilogy (Lotus I, II, and III)

Hope I didn't miss any there. I suppose the Lotus Trilogy could be counted as a "collection", but I don't really see it that way.

The Mario Kart Double Dash I have has two disks. The second is a bonus disk... I've never actually popped it in and checked it out. Now I'm so curious I'm a little itchy.

Just looked it up to see if it would be worth the time. I stopped itching. LOL

I'll have to unlock the Fire Emblem stuff with it sometime. Other than that, nothing too spectacular.

For the Xbox:
TOCA Race Driver 2/Colin McRae Rally 04 (2 discs)
Project Gotham Racing 2/Xbox Arcade with Ms. Pac Man (2 discs)
Tom Clancy's Classic Trilogy (3 discs)

Two disc are fine as long as it's two games in one case. I'm not counting the arcade disc because it was merely a collection of mini games. Plus, it was included with about a million different demo disc. And the Clancy trilogy is excluded for being more than two games.

The Street Fighter 3: Double Impact release on Dreamcast has both SF3: 2nd Impact and New Generation on it.

There's also the Street Fighter Collection for PS2 and Xbox, which had SF3: 3rd Strike and Hyper Street Fighter 2 on it.

Edit: What about that Dead or Alive Ultimate collection or whatever for Xbox? It only had DOA 1 and 2 on it.

I might've missed the correction, but the pack in disc for the Xbox with NCAA Football 2005 (I believe it was 2005) was bundled with Top Spin, not Top Spin 2 as stated several times in the thread.

You should add PopCap Hits Vol. 2 for ps2 too. :p Only 2 games.

Also, The xbox 360 has vol1 out, and vol2 is coming out this month. The 360 has a 4 game for vol1 and 3 game for vol2. edit: forgot it was only 2 games only allowed.
