This Turbo Duo lot is available locally, and I'm wondering how much it is worth, since I don't come across NEC stuff often. Comes with the Duo and the following (don't know yet about complete-ness).

1 Duo Tap (5 controller adaptor), 4 controllers (3 NEC controllers and 1 2nd party), and many games.

-->Hu Card Games:
Bomber Man '93,
Air Zonk,
Neutopia,
Neutopia 2,
The Legendary Axe,
The Legendary Axe 2,
Dragon's Curse,
Cadash,
Tiger Road,
Drop Off,

-->CD ROM Games:
Cosmic Fantasy 2,
Vasteel,
Ys Book I & II,
Valis 2,
The Addams Family,
Exile,

-->Super CD Games:
Exile - Wicked Phemomenon,
Game Combo Super CD (Gates of Thunder, Bonk's Adventure, Bonk's Revenge. Also has a hidden version of the original Bomberman).

Hard to say without knowing if the games are complete or loose. If it's under $300 I'd grab it.

Check if the sound is still working properly, most Duos have some problems with that(bad capacitors). That will affect the value.

I would grab it for $200-300, it's probably worth $400 or so depending on the condition of the Duo and the complete-ness of the games.

I heard back, and the Duo is loose w/ hookups and controllers as noted. All the games except Bomberman have "their original cases and case inserts". I don't know about the outer cardboard sleeves/boxes. He says that Bomberman was bought used to explain the lack of case, so I'm guessing he bought all these games new.

Asking price is 500. I'm a bit curious about the system and games, but not sure I should invest so much in it, particularly if it is no better than I 'fair' price. Add to that that I have a T-16 w/ CD add-on that I've only hooked up once to test (:embarrassed:)... well, I guess I'm just not curious enough!

If you can get him down to $150-200(not likely but possible) go for it.

It's in the $300-$400 range, I definitely wouldn't pay $500 for it, and closer to $300 actually. Exile 2 bumps the price up a bit, as does a complete Neutopia II, Dragon's Curse and Air Zonk. Also, if Ys I & II is the retail version, that bumps the price up. I've seen the regular freebie edition go for $50 and up lately with the complete retail version around $100. (I certainly wouldn't pay either price, which is why I don't own a copy right now.)

Seconded. I wouldn't pay a cent until I knew the redbook audio was working properly--or the seller lowered the price enough that it was worth gambling on.
