In a few online places I visit I am reading reports that a playable gamecube demo is available from Toy-r-us, Electronic Boutique, Walmart, Best Buy and other stores. Some are saying it is bundled with new gamecubes and other people are saying that you can buy it out right. I hope to pass this on, so be on the lookout. :) What is on the Disc:

How sad that you have to buy a demo disk, of all things. Nintendo's being stingy.

I think it's their new pack in...seems to me like it was announced a few weeks ago somewhere, but I don't exactly remember. Maybe it was in that last issue of Nintendo Power. I'd have to check.

I saw the demo at Best Buy, about a week ago but the wanted 9.99 for it and i didn't feel like it was worth it for a demo.

correct me if I'm wrong, but sony and microsoft also charge for demo disks, so how is nintendo being stingy?

from IGN's article http://cube.ign.com/articles/403/403854p1.html

"While the disc is currently being sold at some retail outlets as early as today for approximately $10 U.S., we're learning that such means of distribution may not be according to Nintendo's official plans. (Notice the little "NOT FOR RESALE" doozy in the images below.) Don't be surprised to find this previewable treat strictly as part of a GCN console bundle promotion in the very near future. It's a shame, too, because we certainly know that Nintendo fans across the country would be willing to shell out 10 bucks to get their hands on these great playable demos (and we'd love to get other sweet playable games like F-Zero, 1080, Crystal Chronicles, and Mario Kart, too)!"

I'm definitely going to buy this thing. I hope I can get one before retailers stop selling it seperately.

There's a plethora of them, however, compared to how many demo disks Nintendo's released now? Add to the fact that they're often inserted in magazines and such and while you have to pay for the mag anyways nothing is ultimately 'free.'
