Does anyone out there mod the n64 for anything higher than s-video? I've heard people have done RGB mods but i don't own a tv that supports that. If anyone knows of someone who can RGB mod but with a converter to use component or a regular PC input let me know on an HDTV be sure to let me know.

I use this on my N64 setup but the RGB to component will not look much better on a HDTV. You will need an upscaler and they run anywhere from $150-$400 depending on how good you want it to look. One that takes the signal from RGB to component still leaves the resolution at 480 and will still look horrible. I paid $250 for my upscaler but it makes all of my old consoles look amazing even the NES on my HDTV. And most don't even require a RGB signal just standard composite/s-video. Just google video upscaler and you will find what you need. But if you go the RGB route just get an older SD TV, HD CRT, or a RGB monitor that is the only way a N64 will look descent. An upscaler will output 720P resolution and look amazing on the newer HD sets. Mario Kart on a 62" TV is freakin' sweet!!

Don't have a camera but I assure you it makes all the difference. 90% of the pixelation is gone and the colors are brite and vibrant. The best thing is that the converter will work for any console so if you are a retro gamer like myself it is totally worth every cent.
EDIT
I do have some pics of my Supergrafx running the same setup if you want me to post them. It looks even worse than the N64 before I use an upscaler.

Sorry it is the best I can do but if you look close you will notice how clean the image looks. This is an RGB to upscaler image.

I use an XRGB2+ as most of the cheaper ones will cause a little lag. Here is one for sale for $250 but you would need to have a RGB mod performed. If you need that as well I can point you in the right direction.

Atreyu187, WITHOUT RGB MOD, all system looks better in HDTV than sd crt tv with your upscaler?
Not just for colors but for pixels too, let me know
When we talk about HDTV, we talk about LCD screens that are a crap for 2d games, I can say it when I see 2d games from live arcade in my xbox 360 pluged on my LCD TV, these games are upscalled for 720p but still looks bad, yeah, colors are vibrant but the pixels looks horrible. Your upscaler solve this problem with LCD screens?
