I went to check out vidgame.net to see what parts I was missing for my non working Sega CD. Well as it turns out it has decided to close on me. If anyone checked it out, it was great. It was always my first stop when reading about systems and peripherals and to identify items. Now that it is closing, is there any site like it? I mean, I guess I could create 50 threads a week here on DP, but I am sure you would find that boring.

aw man, it lapsed already? I thought it was going to stay up at least until February.

But I don't know of any other sites with all the information compiled like that, so you may have to forum jump!

You can always visit the web archive of it:

Vidgame.net was a great site and one of the first dedicated to video game hardware. We are still in the process of completing the site, but much information has been completed (especially for the obscure and rare systems). The site:

The Video Game Console Library
http://www.videogameconsolelibrary.com

Between Dark Watcher, 98PaceCar and myself, we own every main system that has been released. The 'Site Map' link under the 'Main' menu will list all pages that have been completed and uploaded (will save you some time hunting around). Not trying to promte the site at all - just offering an alternative that might fit your needs both now and in the future (which is our goal).

Hope this helps and comments/suggestions are always welcomed.

That's horrible, Vidgame.net is one of the best resources out there for information about older consoles -- power supply information, controllers, system images, etc... it's all there. The web.archive.org archive is great to have, but they don't have every image in the archive and as usual for web.archive.org access is very slow... this site should never have closed, updated or not. I've used it a lot. :(

Maybe we can get some of achika's work folded into DP somehow? There's so much good stuff there.

If you can convince her go for it ;p I doubt she'd be inclined to throw the photos around, but the tables for power supplies and connector types would be good.

If someone knows her have her contact me. Maybe I can work with her to see if she would want to incorporate her pics\work into my site and ensure that she receives continued credit. She may not be adverse to the idea since her work will live on and if she wants to get involved down the road she doesn't have to worry about webspace\etc - she can have a home if she wants.
