We hope we're not alone in this, but we sure miss Vin Diesel when we don't get to see him for a while. The reasons should be more than evident in this new trailer for Chronicles of Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena (http://www.joystiq.com/search/?q=Chronicles%20of%20Riddick%3A%20Assault%20on%20D ark%20Athena), which we've just lifted from our friends at Xbox 360 Fanboy (http://www.xbox360fanboy.com/2009/01/22/video-riddick-assault-on-dark-athena-desperation-trailer/).

Vin Diesel is a video game character. He's bald, he's buff, he speaks only in low growls and he loves to kill people. All he's missing is a bitchin' rock guitar soundtrack to follow him around everywhere, and we think you'll agree that the above trailer fills that need effortlessly.Riddick: Assault on Dark Athena gets new trailer (http://www.joystiq.com/2009/01/22/riddick-assault-on-dark-athena-gets-new-trailer/) originally appeared on Joystiq (http://www.joystiq.com) on Thu, 22 Jan 2009 15:45:00 EST. Mmmmmmmmm.........Riddick.....

Can't wait for this game to come out. Will pre-order this game soon (X360 version).

I already have my CoR:EFBB guide readied to accept the new information and become my CoR:AoDA guide. I can't wait to see what Achievements they have in store for this game.

I have not played the first game, yet I am one of the few people who likes Chronicles of Riddick.

When I heard, via X-play, that the original Xbox game would be included with updated graphics in addition to ten hours of gameplay in the new game this became a must buy for me...

Looks like a little more action and a little less stealth in the second game but still looks fun. Riddick and mecha seems a little awkward to me but I'll live...

Then you're in for a treat.

AoDA is three games in one package. The first is "Escape From Butcher Bay" but it is the Developer's Cut which was, up until now, only on PC. This version contains an extra segment or two that was not on the Xbox version.

The second game is "Assault on Dark Athena" which is the new chapter in the CoR saga.

The third game is multiplayer which was not included with either the Xbox or PC version. I heard that one of the modes is where one player is Riddick, who has the eyeshine, and the other players are guards. But the map is in complete darkness and the other players just have regular flashlights to see their way around. Looks like fun.

I'm looking forward to this one too. The original game is the finest game based on a movie franchise, in my opinion, and the upgrades and addition of ten new hours of gameplay makes this a no-brainer.

Now, if only Vin Diesel would get back to making movies like Pitch Black and pass on trash like Babylon A.D.
