I thought maybe someone might enjoy this, since it has such a strong retro feel to it.

Its basically a "metroidvania" platformer (if that makes any sense to you), with lovely pixel graphics, very polished gameplay, and randomly (procedurally) generated levels, which means high replay value. Plus, its completely free.

You can download it and get more info here, in its official thread:

Its truly awesome, just give it a try.

Oh yeah, this is my kind of game. Played for a few minutes to try it out and it looks great. Are you Derek, the creator of the game?

Argh, too many high-quality indie platformers to keep up with these days!

I've been having a blast with this game for the last several days. What makes it so appealing is that it's a platformer with roguelike elements, which is an interesting combination.

It's roguelike in that the levels are different every time you play, and you go deeper down into the caves as you progress in levels, and death is final etc. But as a platformer, it has that "pick up and play" aspect so you don't have to spend all the time learning the intricacies of the gameplay before you can actually do things and have fun, as is the case with most traditional roguelikes.

Just a warning though, this game can be frustratingly difficult. Expect to die often. It's awesome though.
